I highly recommend this group of medical professionals. Everyone of their staff members are always kind and pleasant to deal with. The office is very comfortable, modern and clean. Dr. Bathla is the best! He is a kind hearted doctor, someone you can trust with your health and well being. I have seen many doctors for my back threw the years and I feel fortunate to have found Chicago Sports and spine.
The staff was very polite, friendly and organized. I suggest printing and filling out the new patient forms prior to your appointment. It saves valuable time! Dr. Bathla is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to with a great bedside manner. He is the only doctor I have ever had personally come out to the waiting room to get the patient!

More about Dr. Baljinder Bathla, MD

Dr. Bathla is one of the co-founders of Chicago Sports and Spine. He is Dual Board Certified in both Pain Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine. After serving as an Attending Physician at the prestigious University of Chicago, Dr. Bathla decided to start his own practice with an emphasis on treating the patient as a whole rather than the symptoms they suffer from. He believes in a "Holistic" approach to achieve pain relief by treating multiple systems in the body and the impact they have on each other. He believes that it is through the dysfunction of these multiple systems that you experience pain. He has had tremendous success with this approach. Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio; Dr. Bathla received his Medical Degree from The Wright State University. He then went on to do his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency training at the University of Chicago and continued his training with a Fellowship in Pain Management at the University of Chicago Department of Anesthesia. Dr. Bathla has a strong interest in both medical relief and social causes. He and his wife head an organization that provides relief to places in the world in need of medical help. He currently serves as Vice-President of Awassa Children’s Project which runs an orphanage in Ethiopia with 100 Children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.

It was great. They have a nice office and medical staff.
I think Dr. Bathla is a 1st rate physician (and person).
I had a first appointment with Dr. Bathla on Monday, 8/31/2015. I was referred to Dr. Bathla by my previous pain doctor, who would no longer be treating pain patients. I had been his patient for six years, and was quite pleased with him. When making the appointment with Dr. Bathla I asked a member of his staff if I should bring my medical records with me. I was told no because they would have them sent via internet from my former doctor, directly to their office. When I arrived for my appointment, about three weeks after making it, I was told the records had not arrived. One staff member said she had tried about six times with no luck, to get my former doctor’s office to send them. I had to fill out new forms before seeing the doctor. After I saw him, he said he wanted x-rays done before my next visit. Once again (today, 9/4/2015), I spoke with his staff to find out how to go about getting the x-rays done. They asked, and I told them that my tests are usually done at Little Company of Mary Hospital, Evergreen Park, IL. I was told that they would fax the forms to LCMH, and all I had to do was call LCMH, get the fax number (which they should have done) and call them back with it. This I promptly did. Several hours later I checked with LCMH to see if they had received an order for my x-rays. They had not. Then I called Dr. Bathla’s office back to see why no order had been faxed. I was told that the fax number must be wrong because they have tried it several times and it had not gone through (as medical workers I would have thought they could have acquired the number easily enough by calling the LCMH operator). But I guess not. I am 66-years-old and maybe things have changed a bit since I worked anywhere except for my home business for they last 20 years. However, prior to starting my own home business (Desk Top Publishing), I worked for the late Doctor Robert W. Fogel, 1993 Nobel Prize Winner for Economic Science. Prior to Dr. Fogel I also worked for Itel Rail Corporation and Altschuler, Melvoin and Glasser LLP, among other large Chicago based companies. Back then it was not always easy for an African American woman, such as myself, to work among the corporate giants because of racism. I now wonder if this (which should be antiquated ) rule applies to other professions – like certain factions of the medical field. Since I spent a lot of my youth marching, letter-writing, and getting thrown into jail fighting for the rights of every race, religion, color and creed in this country. I SURE HOPE NOT! But I still remember a little bit about how to conduct business properly :-( Most sincere,

As anyone who has dealt with back pain knows, it can be depressing both to live with and to try to have treated. Dr. Bathla was a breath of fresh air in the midst of such potential gloom. He is very kind, patient, informative, and attentive. I left the appointment with a plan for treatment and a refreshing amount of hope that I was in the right hands and on my way to better days.
Dr. Bathla and his staff were excellent. He listened attentively, understood my concerns and history, and advised a non surgical, non invasive program of physical therapy with keen attention to follow up. It was a very pleasant experience.
Always good ! He always makes me feel comfortable and listens. He makes me feel at ease because he treats me like a human and listens to my concerns. Everyone in his office is very nice and professional ......However, not so overly professional that they are cold. They do their job well, but they are friendly! Highly Recommend.

I continue to be very pleased with the care received by Dr. Bathla and his staff. The manual therapy (i.e., massage, heat, TENs, laser, reflexology, etc.) appointments have been wonderful and I'm really feeling a difference. I still maintain that I would highly recommend Dr. Bathla and his staff for spine and sports injuries.
I was pleased with my first appointment. Dr. Bathla thoroughly explained my MRI results and diagnosis, as well as options for alleviating the symptoms. I was hesitant to go to new physician for my back problems, but after no relieve from treatments by my primary doctor had been treating for 18 months, I bit the bullet and am glad I found him.
Alays feel better when I leave. Treats you like a human, which is quite rare these days. Nice staff and clean office. Can't ask for much more! He helps me to put my mind at ease always for the problems I have. He is a good doctor and a good person in a good location!! Recommend him to anyone who needs his type of practice!!

I was extremely pleased with my initial visit with Dr. Bathla and would highly recommend him to anyone, especially if you've received multiple or misdiagnoses and have found no resolution to your pain. After several diagnostic tests through my PCP, I was advised showed nothing that would contribute to my pain level and I was incredibly frustrated. Dr. Bathia carefully went through my history and test results and discussed several concerns, all of which he believed could be resolved. He was very easy to talk to and it was obvious he was very knowledgeable about his specialized field. He formulated a diagnosis and plan of action, which is half the battle when it comes to back issues, and I'm looking forward to getting this condition under control quickly! Again, highly recommended!
Very professional. I was on lots of pain Gave me back injections. Felt better after procedure. But I'm concerned that pain will return and I may need medication too. What should i do? Thanks Dd

He was very nice and professional! He seems to know his field well. I felt quite at ease. Finding a doctor who actually cares to talk and explain things is refreshing. He even talked to me when I left at the reception. Many doctors just kind of leave, he didn't do that. I recommend him highly.

Very professional, yet personable. Felt like he went through all my options and made his recommendation for treatment, but let me decide what treatment sounded best for me.
I never wait and the dr's and staff are warm, courteus, Attentive to my needs, and they anticipate my needs as a patient. I am Proud to be a part of this clinic!

Dr. Bathla is incredible. I have been dealing with back issues for so long, have gotten vague answers, and have had no results. Dr. Bathla gave me straight, frank answers and it going to be helping me get back to normal.
