I liked Dr. Nguyen, and I think he gave me good advice and care. But, as I am unfamiliar with sonograms (which was to be the next step in my care) and with the sonogram facilities in the local area, I was still a little unclear as to what was expected of me next after the visit. I had to ask my (dumb) questions pretty forcefully to have the next steps fully explained. The office staff seemed more interested in their socializing than with ensuring that the patient really understood what was happening.

Dr. Bao Nguyen is a board-certified family physician caring for patients of all ages. Born in Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen's family moved to Northern Virginia, where he grew up and later received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Indiana. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the American Academy of Family Practitioners. He is fluent in both English & Vietnamese. Experienced in both Family Practice & Urgent Care, he enjoys treating patients of all ages. As a family practitioner, Dr. Nguyen is able to provide comprehensive medical care to the entire family, from newborns to grandparents. With training in Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Nguyen strongly believes in preventive medicine for the promotion of wellness. He has become an avid runner, running 3-4 days per week and participating in 5k and 10k road races. Dr. Nguyen's practice philosophy is to have an open physician-patient communication, with emphasis on maintaining optimal health through patient education. In 2011, Dr. Nguyen was named 'One of the Best Doctors in America’.

Its a rip off. annual exam resulted in paying tons of money for the testing agencies, equivalent to 6 months premium while discovering nothing other than what i am already aware of and declared in the history. They did not caution about that huge expense when i told them about the expectation that annual exam is free.

I was pleased with his problem-solving skills, patience and willingness to answer all my many questions to my satisfaction. We are still working together on follow-up procedures so I will be seeing him again in about a month. He did more blood tests than other doctors I've seen, which turned out out great because several new and important discoveries were made.
The office staff seemed fine, but some of the nurses, I feel, need training in how to communicate information in a more professional and complete manner. I conveyed this to Dr. Nguyen.

He made me completely comfortable even talking about awkward medical issues, and was very attentive and professional.
