I received my master’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in the specialty area of family practice. Since graduation, I have focused on the adult community working alongside internal medicine physicians and family nurse practitioners.
Through my clinical training and collaboration with amazing providers, I have truly developed a passion for quality, guideline driven, patient-centered care. Once given the wonderful advice of “Always keep the patient first”, I have developed skills to communicate and partner with each patient as an individual – on an individual basis. I recognize each person for their individuality and provide care with the understanding of this individuality. My care is always based on guidelines and best standard of care with the consideration of the patient’s lifestyle, culture, and personal goals.
I am part of a team at Blue Orchid – Dr. Adewunmi, our staff and I welcome you to Blue Orchid! We attempt to keep the schedule timely - we allow 60 minutes for a new patient consult and 45 minutes for return visits. This time allows us to effectively listen and communicate with each patient. I believe we are all passionate about our patients and we look forward to being a part of your medical care.

Barbara was probably the best physician I have ever met! Her office is extremely clean and inviting, her front desk staff are nice and helpful. Barbara took the time to listen to my concerns and helped me address them by pointing me in the right direction for the future. This office isn't your typical "hurd them in and hurd them out" type of office.Will definitionally be going back to her for my annuals and future medical concerns. Highly recommend!
