Overall, the visit was okay. The office was so busy (and small) that there weren't enough chairs for everybody. We waited about twenty minutes past our appointment times to be seen. It was, however, very easy to get an appointment with him-we made ours one day in advance. Dr. Kirschenbaum himself was very knowledgeable, as well he should be given that he's been practicing for over 40 years. He's definitely very old-school; he uses a typewriter to take notes and his staff uses a big paper date book for appointments. Overall it was a positive experience.
Dr Kirschenbaum was quick to diagnose my issue, which I appreciate. The wait was short and I had no trouble getting an appointment. Everyone was friendly, no complaints.
Was a big skeptical at first because I got an appointment so quickly, but all turned out well. Loved his bedside manner and personality. I felt I was in good hands with this doctor. Also, pleasant office staff -- an indication they like their jobs and boss. Hope my treatment works. :)
very pleased with My visit with Dr. Kirschenbaum. did not have to wait beyond My appointment time. Office workers were very friendly and helpful.
Doesn't waste time, yet makes you feel comfortable. I was only waiting probably a total of 15 minutes, including the waiting area.
RUN!!! Do not walk. Unless you wish to be received by a curt, inattentive, harried front desk staff or by a Doctor who has the charm of a mosquito and an equally annoying, itchy sting. This Dr. is so unconcerned, condescending and has no visible compassion. He interrupted with abrupt, harsh answers to each of my concerns and even took the time to answer a personal phone call, leaving me incredibly stunned at sitting for 4 minutes listening to his wife (? -she said "I love you" when the call ended) speak about her meeting/procedure whatever. Subject yourself to borderline abuse if you wish. This was the 1st and LAST time I will ever be treated like this by a Dr. Retire, sir. Your ennui shows...
My second time seeing Dr Kirschenbaum. The office said they were having trouble see/scheduling ZocDoc appointments (and didn't have me on the schedule even though I received a confirmation). That said, I waited less than 10 minutes this time and Dr Kirschenbaum had me out the door in another 10 minutes. Quick and to the point. I have to go back for a follow up in about 4 weeks.
Professional, to the point.
Great and thorough would recommend him highly!!
He is fast , knowledgeable and get the work done. He examined more than I asked for and solved my problem right on the spot. I needed a small operation to remove a mole. After 5 min it was done, painlessly done. Great Doctor!
I like this doctor a lot.
Very trough and loved how fast the visit was! I have been to number of dermatologists and he was most informative out of them all.
La primera vez que trato a mi hijo senti que dios me lo puso en Buenas manos
Very knowledgeable but quick. I didn't get much of a chance to actually have a discussion with him. He sat me down, gave me some advice and wrote me prescriptions. I got a good vibe off of him though.
I really think Dr. Kirschenbaum is a great doctor. He spent the right amount of time to answer all of my questions.
Very genuine dude. Awesome doc. Don't listen to the negative review. Those people suck at being human beings.
Very thorough...thank you!!
CHOSE A DIFFERENT DOCTOR!! Some of the previous reviews left me unsure of this doctor, but he was the only dermatologist with an open appointment before I left for work travel. I now know why he had an open appointment. I came in with three things that I wanted him to look at. When he heard my three concerns he was obviously perturbed and acted like I was wasting his time. After viewing the first item he proclaimed his diagnosis and said "next", not even allowing me to ask any questions. At the end I assumed that we would discuss what he saw and ways forward. Instead he signed me up for a blood test that he said I didn't really need, but was good to have, then rushed out the door while my shirt was still off. Very unprofessional! I'm glad I stopped him and had him write down the diagnosis so that I could research them myself, otherwise I would be totally unaware (and he was obviously annoyed when I had him write it down too). Do not schedule an appointment unless you want the same rushed, arrogant, and impersonal experience! Read other reviews, this is not a one off. Best of luck!!!
I would caution anyone to avoid Dr. Kirschenbaum. His office is hectic and disorganized, which isn't a huge deal if he's a good doc. But seriously, his "examination" was a grand total of 3 minutes. Yes, I checked my watch. Not only did he disregard my primary concern and reason for going there in the first place, he utterly blew me off when I reminded him why I was there. He didn't even actually look at what I was talking about. There are too many good doctors out there to justify sending patients to someone like this. Avoid at all costs.
I booked via ZocDoc, but the staff seemed to just serve people at a first-come-first-served basis. It took a while to see the doctor and he take much time for niceties, but he go the job done quickly and without pain so no complaints there.
I waited a little while to get in, but it was worth it to have the knowledge and expertise of Dr. K. I really appreciated his attention to detail and his caring bedside manner. I would recommend him highly.
He is good doctor
Very knowledgeable and professional
Wouldn't go back there again
This was my first time to see Dr. Kirschenbaum and he was very kind. I was very nervous but he explained what would happen in the procedure and was done in a matter of minutes! I will definitely use his office again.
I was treated well, and didn't wait long. The doctor wanted to know everything that was going on but didn't waste any time.
Quick, to the point, the guy knows his stuff and I appreciated his no-nonsense approach. I recommend to folks to think ahead (and write down if you need to) what your questions and concerns are that you're coming to address so that you don't forget to ask. Also, incredibly reasonable rates for those of us paying out of pocket.
He's great! My first time seeing him and I felt totally comfortable!
Good doctor - friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to figure out what my rash was really quickly. Unfortunately, when he gave me the diagnosis, he said it so fast that I didn't catch it. I wish I'd asked him to repeat it for me.
He was very knowledgable but felt it was a bit rushed. Hope the prescription helps!
The visit was pleasent and quick with no problems.
He was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes and he was very thorough and I didn't feel rushed like I do with a lot of doctors. Highly recommend!
Very professional very old school.
my experience was very pleasant and very efficant Dr Kirschenbaum is a perfect genuine Doctor gets straight to the point and takes care of the issue.. Highly recommended
Seems OK and professional. Maybe too many patients...(crowded)
Generally concerned and came over as very knowable. Very happy and he will be my dermatologist going forward.
Attentive listener, knowledgeable, appears genuinely concerned, answers all questions
Dr. Barry is great doctor :)
BEST DERMATOLOGIST IN ILLINOIS!
Very good doctor, really knows his stuff. He speaks quickly and the appointments are short, but I trust his advice. My only issue is the office staff. Every time I have visited in the recent past they have been rude, really rude.
Overall it was a thorough and professional appointment. I got a lot of info from the doctor.
Perhaps the office had booked too many patients, but I felt very rushed. The doctor spoke so quickly I could barely keep up and I didn't feel comfortable interrupting or asking questions. I did finally stop his role to ask a question which he answered, but he was out of the office before I knew it. Gave me some suggestions and an Rx for my problem. He wasn't rude, just very direct with no room for discussion and getting to know his patient.
Very inciteful, knows his stuff.
He was very nice, but the office seem outdated.
He is very professional. The wait times can be a little long.
I highly recommend Dr. Kirschenbaum. He is such a knowledgeable physician and such a kind soul. And he has an excellent sense of humor. I really am glad I found him and would definitely go to him again.
Informative, relaxed, professional, humorous visit to the dermatologist. This kind physician would not still be in practice if he were not passionate and successful; 'tis obvious he's both.
Very knowledgeable and friendly doc. Straight and to the point, will even try to save you money on prescriptions
He was able to answer my questions. Check what needed to be checked and I felt confident that I'd chosen the right doctor. I have moles that have to be checked regularly and I found a really good dermatologist that I can trust to do just that. Thank you
My appointment was at 4 and I wasn't seen until 4:45... doctor was very nice though and had a good sense of humor.
Great Dock /very nice
Very smart, wonderful doctor!
It was quick, precise and reassuring. It was a little unnerving however for him to ask me to take off my top so he could look at the upper part of my body and then tell me to drop my pants to see the lower part of my body. A gown would be much more preferable. I'm surprised he hasn't gotten any complaints on the site about that.
He was fast and precise. And it was willing to hear what I had to say and asked me if I had any more questions or concerns. Not every doctor gives you this kind of attention, I highly recommend Dr. Barry, no doubt about it!
Very professional and kind
The staff is very rude. The visit with the doctor took 10 minutes and his exam was perfunctory. His equipment is archaic. I recommend going elsewhere.
There was no parking in the area, had to pay for valley outside the building. The building itself was very old looking and unkempt. The office and tools were very old (typewriters?). The office staff were friendly, but very rushed. Dr. Kirschenbaum was nice, but seemed impersonal and in a hurry. Was taking care of four patients at once, going from room to room every 2 or 3 minutes. When he came in, the appointment lasted a few short minutes and was ready to start giving prescriptions so he can go to the next person. I've heard that he goes on many trips, so he might have just had a very busy schedule today, and this was the exception from the usual.
Professional demeanor. He didn't jump to a conclusion about my skin issues. I'll have to go back after lab tests. But I feel confident that he'll figure out what the problem is.
The dr was nice. He seemed to want to " get in and out". Would of liked him to be a little more patient with me. The receptionist on the other hand needs to learn phone skills and people skills. If it weren't for the dr. I would not go back. The ladies who answer the phone, whoever you were, need to watch Passion of the Christ and learn some compassion!!!
He was little quick . but ok iam satisfied.
I'ts all good
Quick...too quick and impersonal. But, he got the job done.
He seemed very competent and took care of my issue quickly. Easy to get in and I'd recommend him
My problem was routine so its difficult to judge but he seemed professional to me. I was able to schedule an appointment on very short notice which was a huge plus
I liked his honesty
I liked him and I look forward to the medicine he prescribed for my sons to help their acne.
it was a little quick for the first time, but i recomended the docto
very good and profecional.
