Overall good experience. The original appointment needed to be moved due to scheduling conflict but they did have availability. The appointment ran behind because the provider hit traffic. The staff was managing an irate patient however, they were nice with me and I could sense they weren’t sure if they needed to be on guard or not. The only thing I didn’t like was the size of the office. Not much room for social distancing but that’s not really something they can control. All in all, the experience was good. I would refer others to them.

Barry Silver graduated magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. He attended the Medical College of Virginia (Virginia Commonwealth University), where he earned his medical degree and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed a Harvard University Dermatology residency program at Massachusetts General Hospital and earned his dermatology board certification in 1977.
Dr. Silver was an active member of the Summit Medical Group in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey for over three decades. He provides medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services to patients of all ages. His patient-focused philosophy is to always find the most efficient, cost-effective and complete resolution to the problem at hand. With special surgical skills in a wide range of dermatologic procedures, he offers precision treatment of varied conditions, from spider veins to anti-aging treatments, and also has expertise in Botox® treatments and facial fillers such as JuvadermTM, Restylane® and Radiesse®.

I was unimpressed with Dr. Silver. He came into the examination room and started touching my face without warning, explaining his examination or "I'm going to start the exam now." In addition to that, he did not wear gloves or show any indication that he had cleaned his hands from his last patient. He also missed several of my moles since his examination was subpar and missed areas of my body (my ribs and backs of my legs). I had to direct his attention to several that I was concerned about. I would not recommend him.

I was genuinely excited to meet with Dr. Silver for a continuing skin condition that has been bothering me for many months. With the number of good reviews Dr. Silver has gotten, I hoped to finally have my problem licked and I'd be able to stop worrying about my ailment. However, Dr. Silver did not seem to even care about the lengths I've gone through before coming to him. He would not listen to my previous treatments, and went ahead with a treatment I said I've ready been through that did not help me at all. While I acknowledge Dr. Silver's expertise in the subject, he did not seem to care about his clients, especially evident after my 40 minute wait for my appointment which I arrived 10 minutes early for.

Arrived on time for my appointment at 2 PM and waited an hour and there were still people in front of me so I left. No reflection on the Doctor who has treated me before and was very good but I cannot recommend the Overlook hospital administration staff. They clearly do not possess the ability to properly run an office and properly schedule appointments to their capabilities.

Dr. Silver was amazing. Very thorough, competent and just an all around really, really nice guy.
My last dermatologist spent anywhere from 3 to 5 mins with me each visit. Dr. Silver spent 15-20 mins looking me over and creating a baseline for my full body screen.
I highly, highly recommend him.

He may have fixed my skin, but when he asked me what I do for a living and then proceeded to tell me that he would NEVER have his child go to my classroom with my condition was not the appropriate way of speaking to me. He simply could have suggested I be careful when around the children. I had sore skin around my nose and ears. I kept it very clean at all times and it was not contagious, my children were never at risk. I found it extremely unprofessional when he said this to me and the tone of his voice was harsh as well when saying it. I understand I had a lot going on, but I also am on a lot of medication for Crohn's Disease that makes it hard for my skin to heal. I am currently free of all blemishes and happy about that, but will not be returning for a follow-up.

For the first time, I've seen the dermatologist through Zocdoc. appointment schedule. It was very flexible with my desirable time.
However, when I try to make appointment through the Doctor's office, I had to wait for several days which was very inconvenient for me.
He was very professional, friendly and honest about the diagnosis. He immediately figured out what the problem was and he did not try to sell anything.
Very often, I found many MD's are not that way. So I was very impressed. I'll recommend him to anyone and also I will visit him again in the future.
The only problem for me to find his office building was not well sign posted outside, even though the street number was correct. So I thought it was a apartment bloc not the medical office or medical group, initially.
When you go inside the building, then there was the explanation of what offices are there.

Dr. Silver was great! I went in for a minor skin condition and he had me in and out in less than 10 minutes (minus the 10 minutes in the waiting room). I had never seen a dermatologist before him but I will definitely be going back.
