I am a clinical psychologist in practice since 1990. At last count (I think in about 2016), I'd done about 30,000 psychotherapy sessions. I still find it fascinating. Over the years, I’ve managed to work with just about every kind of patient there is. I’ve consulted in hospitals, community mental health centers, foster care agencies, schools, nursing homes, Head Start programs, and the courts. Ultimately, however - and clinical research has consistently found this to be so - the success of the therapy is much more dependent on the quality of the relationship we form than on the details of my approach or theoretical orientation.
