Although the office was overbooked, I am happy I waited. I had seen a different opthamologist in weeks prior and did not feel that the diagnosis or bedside manner was at a level I would expect from a qualified specialist. Dr. Kutzscher (and his staff) were much better prepared, and utilized higher quality equipment to diagnose my particular problem. I was listened to, and more importantly HEARD. Dr. Kutzscher provided me with feedback and a qualified explanation of my condition. I was told what was happening and what I could expect. I was given medication to help assist with the healing process and advised to return for follow up if healing did not proceed normally. Upon leaving the office I felt informed and empowered. Although the wait was a little excessive, I would gladly endure it again to receive the level of care I received. Highly Recommended.

A specialist in numerous types of laser eye surgery, cataract surgery, and corneal transplant, Dr. Bernd Kutzscher has performed laser vision correction since the excimer laser was first approved in 1996.
Dr. Kutzscher is a member of the Adjunct Clinical Faculty of Ophthalmology at Stanford Medical Center. He was the Director of the Stanford Refractive Network and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UCSF and California Pacific Medical Center. He has also served as medical director of the Stanford Eye Laser Center. Additionally, Dr. Kutzscher has participated in the Stanford Eye Laser program since it opened in 1996.
Dr. Kutzscher received his undergraduate and medical school training at Stanford University, his specialty training in Ophthalmology at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, and his sub-specialty training in corneal and retinal diseases during two years at the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital in Saudi Arabia.
A native Californian and married with three children, Dr. Kutzscher is chairman of the Charity and Community Benefits Committee at Seton Medical Center. He was the Medical Director of the free clinic at Seton and a Seton Ethics Committee member. He also does volunteer surgical work in the highlands of Guatemala.
