Bettina Adjei is the President and Medical Director of MyCare
Express, a new urgent care center in Eldersburg, Maryland. She
has owned and worked in this facility since September 2008, and has learned many things about managing and owning a new urgent care center in that time.
Prior to Dr. Adjei’s foray into urgent care medicine, she was an Emergency Medicine Attending at several Baltimore area hospitals, the last of which was at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Bon Secours Hospital, where she was a Clinical Assistant Professor. She is board certified in emergency medicine, and completed an emergency medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She has also received a B.S. in Zoology at Howard University,a M.S. in Developmental Biology at American
University, and her M.D. at Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University School of Medicine.
Since owning and operating her urgent care center, she has become a Clinical Preceptor for the Nurse Practitioner Program for t
he University of Maryland School of Nursing as well
as Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. In addition she is a Clinical Preceptor for the Physician Assistant Program at the Anne Ar
undel Community College in Arnold, Maryland.
