I had two appointments with Dr. Tolia. The first was a screening and the front desk staff was very friendly! Dr. Tolia did an exam, listened to everything I had to say and recommended an ultrasound sound the next week. It went so smooth and the technician was an angel. I saw him today which is May 5th and he gave me a follow up, went over my results with me and explained everything in detail. Highly recommended!

Dr. Tolia earned his medical degree in 1962 and subsequently earned a Master of Surgery degree from M.S. University of Baroda, India. Dr. Tolia completed his Residency in Urology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1968. He then completed his Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 1972. Dr. Tolia was appointed as Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1974.
Prior to employment at New York Health, Dr. Tolia worked as an Attending Physician at the Department of Urology at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Hospital. Dr. Tolia then worked as a Urologist at Montefiore Medical Center, Westchester Square Medical Center, Columbia Presbyterian, and Jack D. Weiler Hospital.
Dr. Tolia was awarded Attending Physician of the Year Award from Montefiore Medical Center, and the Distinguished Professor’s Award from the Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre in India.
Dr. Tolia is currently a member of several organizations, including the National Kidney Foundation, the New York Section of the American Urological Association, and the American College of Surgeons.

Doctor was was suprisingly down to earth, real and knowledgable. His sense of humor made the experience so much more enjoyable and livable especially when getting bad news. I appreciated his ability to make light of a heavy situation and it was so exciting to have a doctor that can be straight truthful. His expertise and passion for his work is undeniable. I was told to arrive 15 minutes early, and I did. I was then made to wait almost an hour after my scheduled appointment before I was seen. The phlebotomist mangled my vein when drawing blood. The doctor was glib and dismissive of my concerns. He was pedantic to the point of making things needlessly difficult, enforcing that I had said "precisely" the "right" thing instead of gleaning the clear meaning that I know I was making; I am not an idiot, and he made me feel like one.
