Dr. Akingboye, a board certified pediatrician, has joined Apple Pediatrics with over ten years of experience. She dedicated her first few years after training providing healthcare to the medically underserved children of Camden, New Jersey, a community with many socioeconomic challenges. After her tenure in Camden, she returned to practice medicine in her hometown of New York City. Since then over the past four years, she has provided medical care with a special interest in newborn medicine and served as a Faculty Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics of the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Akingboye started her journey to medicine when she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from Georgetown University. She then attended medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – School of Osteopathic Medicine after which Dr. Akingboye completed her internship and pediatric residency at the Infants and Children’s Hospital of Brooklyn at Maimonides Medical Center.
As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Akingboye uses her perspective of medical practice to ensure that the medical home she establishes for her patients and their families is fortified with evidence-based medicine, compassion, and respect to heal the mind, body, and soul. She encourages children to participate in their own medical care while partnering with their families so the best medical outcome is achieved.
