Dr. Brad Torphy is a headache specialist who takes a patient-centered approach to care. He believes that the physician and patient are true partners with the common goal of improving the patient's well-being. He is the managing director of The Chicago Headache Center & Research Institute. He exclusively treats headache conditions, including but not limited to migraine. Dr. Torphy is actively involved in research in the field of headache medicine, and he has presented this research at numerous national and international headache conferences. He has co-authored a book on the treatment of headache, and he continues to participate in research into both the factors that may worsen headache as well as novel treatments for various headache conditions. He holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Headache Medicine from the National Headache Foundation. He spent six years as a Staff Physician at the Diamond Headache Clinic. He was named Physician of the Year at MacNeal Hospital, and he served as Chief Resident at University of Illinois - affiliated St. Joseph Hospital, where he completed his residency training. Dr. Torphy graduated from Xavier University School of Medicine, where he was awarded the President's Scholarship. He received a double-major baccalaureate of arts in Biology and History from Indiana University.
