Dr. Brian Cooperman has 25 years of experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Cooperman received his Medical Degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine having graduated with honors and awarded membership to the Alpha Omega Alpha, Medical Honor Society. Dr. Cooperman completed his residency at Cornell University, North Shore University Hospital. Dr. Cooperman also holds a graduate degree in Genetics from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine.
Dr. Cooperman practices Obstetrics and Gynecology and is expert in advanced gynecologic surgical procedures including minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures. He further specializes in the management of abnormal pap smears and colposcopy, vulvar and vaginal abnormalities, the treatment of ovarian cysts and tumors, the treatment of fibroids, endometriosis, infertility, female sexual dysfunction as well as Gynecologic preventive medicine.
Dr. Cooperman is well known for his expertise coupled with his warm and caring obstetrical management. His obstetrical specializations include difficult obstetrical surgeries, multiple gestations and high-risk pregnancies. Genetic Counseling is a particular area of expertise for Dr. Cooperman. He practices all aspects of cancer prevention genetic screening including BRCA testing. He also performs advanced prenatal genetic counseling and screening.
Dr. Cooperman has published many articles and book chapters. He is the recipient of both a March of Dimes and National Institute of Health fellowship. He has won many awards and accolades including the prestigious American Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics Award for Excellence.
