Dr. Steinberg received his Medical Degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and is a graduate of Columbia College. He trained in Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery at New York University Tisch Hospital and Bellevue Hospital. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Steinberg is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, The International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, The Heart Rhythm Society. He lectures frequently and is published in numerous medical journals. As a preceptor, Dr. Steinberg is actively involved in training other surgeons how to perform the Mini-Maze procedure.
