Personable, compassionate physician who doesn’t immediately leap to a surgical option. Very concerned with me as a whole person. Definitely recommend Dr Postma. :-)
Very long wait time of 45 minutes and the front desk didn't even seem to know I had a confirmed appointment.
Dr Postman was so nice and really listened to my input on course of treatment.
Long wait... Dr. was not very personable or explained his reasoning. Had to be asked a million questions to get the information out of him.
Very helpful. Dr Postma was quick to review MRI results with me, suggest treatment options (non-surgical) and treat to provide pain relief (hopefully).
Dr. Postma had been the surgeon for my son and my husband, and the recent work he did with them was so terrific that I naturally went to him with my knee problem. He is definitely an expert in his field, and is very confident with diagnoses and proposed treatment. He listens to your concerns, and elicits your feedback as to your treatment. He answers all questions, and has been wonderful before and during my son's and husband's surgery with responding to emails about the surgeries and aftermath. I highly recommend Dr. Postma, as I know I will get the same treatment as my family.
They jump you thru the hoops pretty fast- that is a good thing
Office was super busy, but I still very much recommend dr postma and his staff. They were extremely efficient while still being extremely sweet and friendly. Glad I chose to come to this office!
The doctor is very bright but he and his staff sometimes come across as indifferent as to what type of impression they make on a patient and whether or not a patient goes elsewhere for their care.
I didn't have to wait too long considering I made the appointment at very short notice. Dr Postma was courteous and to the point. He made some small talk but clearly he preferred concentrating on the actual issue at hand. That was fine with me, but some people might consider him not friendly enough. I was happy to get a clear diagnosis in very short time.
Dr. Postma was very professional and informative.
Dr. Postma is an excellent physician, communicator and it's easy to discuss strategies to determine best path.
i loved that he was so candid and clear AND especially that he suggested i seek the opinion of another physician in the office. he had a wonderful bedside manner!
Dr. Postma is very good-natured and talented. He listens and wants to do what is best for the patient.
Dr Postma was very easy to talk to. He listened, provided advice, answered questions and seemed very knowledgeable. Technicians and other staff were patient, helpful and pleasant.
I had a decent visit with Dr. Postma at Medstar even though the Medstar radiology nurse who checks in patients at x-rays was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Dr. Postma took time to listen to how I injured my knee, made sure to touch and thoroughly check my knee, and asked me questions of the pain level and type. I was a bit thrown off because his picture and actual profile in person doesn't match. He also doesn't have great bedside manners just because he is pretty intimidating and very short in general. I had to ask him more questions to explain more in detail for me.
This was my first visit to Dr. Postma, but not my first at Georgetown MedStar. My experience with Dr. Postma was exceptional, just like all others I have had at Georgetown. From the moment I walked in, everyone was very friendly and professional. My registration was smooth, and the lady brought my insurance and id cards back to me, rather than calling me up to the desk again. The xray process was smooth, and Dr. Postma came to the examination room right on time. His evaluation was clear and concise, and understandable. We have a plan going forward and I look forward to seeing him again in two months!!!
He is great. The front desk staff needs some help. They did not have my documents ready and wanted me to fill them out all over again which defeats the purpose of completing them prior to the appointment. Plus although I arrived early I waited to see the doctor for an hour after my appointment started. I'm sure they were just behind but would have liked someone to have acknowledged the fact that they were so behind and keep me updated on the progress.
He gets my vote as a fine orthopaedist.
Very professional and caring; thoroughness & candor greatly appreciated. I felt comfortable and relaxed with Dr. William Davis as well as Dr. William Postma. Thank you ????
He was diligent and worked with me as a patient in a supportive manner. He explained thoroughly and allowed me to ask questions!! Will definitely come back to him if I need more care - he was great.
Spoke more to students observing than the patient. Also seemed very rushed and spent less than 5 minutes discussing problem when I was the first appointment of the day.
He is an outstanding doctor. Serious, through but not without a sense of humor. He is a real asset to the Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Network.
Dr. Postma's appointments were running 25 minutes late, but front reception made an announcement of this, which was great. Very pleased wih diagnosis of pain being made very quickly, post x-ray as non-hip related and with schedule/referral of MRI as potential back issue.
Well he had me diagnosed within 15 mins. The wait took longer.
Doctor Postma spent very little time with me and was not thorough in his examination of my issue.
Going to Georgetown hospital and finding parking is really chaotic. I had some bad experiences with MedStar in the past and really didn't want to use them. Unfortunately, they were the only practice near me that took my insurance for orthopedics specializing in knees. Dr. Postma was knowledgeable but I felt rushed. I think I spent 5 minutes total with him. The office staff were friendly, unlike the ones at the McLean location. Overall, I would have happily gone to another practice if they were accessible to me.
DR. Postma was very friendly. He was thorough in his explanations of my injury and options for treatment. I opted for surgery and he gave me printed information and we were able to pick a date with ease. I am confident that he will take great care of my needs.
Examination thorough - pleasant atmosphere - not much discussion of possible aetiology of the symptoms - no advice how long to take the medication. Result of expensive CT scan not passed on to me yet.
He was brusque but to the point. Efficient in delivering a diagnosis, but not warm and fuzzy, though perhaps bone doctors don't need to be warm and fuzzy, as primary care docs should.
Easy to schedule and very friendly they where super busy which might be why I had to wait but it seemed to be worth the wait.
Excellent in every way
After a 45 minute wait in the waiting room. I spent another 30 minutes in the doctors room waiting.
They had me do an x-ray before even examining me, which was completely backwards. I had to wait 50 minutes after my appointment time to even be seen. This practice seems very disorganized and overbooked.
It's always a pleasure to see Dr. Postma.
The appointment was very thorough. Upon arrival, they had my forms that I had filled out online, and some additional material for me to fill out. Within 5 minutes, I was at the intake area where they ran my insurance, check my ID, and confirmed my reason for the visit. As I finished up the paperwork I was called back to x-ray where I explained to the technician my injury and reason for the visit. Then to the doctor who saw me within a couple of minutes of arriving in the room. At every step they confirmed my name and date of birth, to ensure that I was the right person. Dr. Postma was fast efficient, and explained my problem and then the in office procedure and shot. I felt very comfortable and at ease with him. Great Doctor!
He is AWESOME & AMAZING
I waited over an hour and a half to see Dr. Postma for less than 15 minutes.
I had a pretty short visit, but I arrived early to have x-rays performed. The staff was very attentive and I only waited for about 10 minutes after having the x-rays performed to see Dr. Postma. He was very friendly and fortunately, my injury turned out not to be serious, so our visit was fairly quick. Highly recommended!
I came to Dr.Postma with pain in my back and hip. He very quickly dismissed my case as a back problem and seemed irritated that I had come to see him. He did a very quick check of my mobility and recommended hamstring stretches as the solution to a very painful back problem that has persisted for the last month. He was very quick to dismiss other diagnoses and treatments I have attempted and just seemed to be in a hurry to get rid of me. It is possible that he is an excellent hip specialist, but his treatment of me did not leave me with much confidence in his suggestions.
Easily diagnosed my hip injury, then performed surgery without any issues and I'm en route to full recovery.
He was awesome.
The visit was much shorter than the wait. He was an hour behind. I was told to arrive at 2pm for my appointment and I wasn't seen until 3:35pm which is terrible
I wonder if he even looked at my X-Rays before he came into the exam room. I waited an hour and 45 minutes. Then he does not even ask questions about my knee. Does not bother to do an exam (my knee was swollen and shin sensitive). Says do an MRI and then surgery. Some nonsensical small talk in between. Not impressed. Not going back.
Dr. Postma was very friendly and curtious and the office was run quite efficiently. Everyone was very nice.
