Byron Busby Holt, MD, passed away in 2015. His mission to serve others through Women's Health Care Center of Houston continues.
In 1979, Dr. Holt founded Women’s Healthcare Center of Houston, and practiced OB/GYN for 46 years, delivering countless babies and treating multiple generations of families. A Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and many other medical organizations, Dr. Holt pioneered the concept of bringing fathers into the delivery room and designed the first birthing room concept in Houston. Dr. Holt was very involved in missionary work, conducting medical missions in Guatemala, and his most recent “gospel music” mission in the Bahamas, combining his love of music, people, sailing, and the Heavenly Father. Dr. Holt’s patients and coworkers knew him to be a compassionate, generous, and understanding man and physician, with great regard for the wellbeing and health of all of his patients.

Dr. Holt is always very professional and courteous. The only thing I don't like is that the visits are very short and when I've had questions it's always "Uh-huh, ok, no, you're fine" and that's it. But besides that he's great I guess. There's just no real patient-doctor connection. Especially since this is my first pregnancy and I'm pretty blind about everything that's going to happen.

When Dr. Holt saw me, he was very professional. I explained to him that I'd seen him, previously, many years before, as a nursing student. During that time, as a student, I found him to be one of the most fashionable(wearing pressed blue jean scrubs) and friendliest doctors at the facility. He was always very nice and cordial, and for me, being a student, it was definitely much appreciated. I'd previously been seeing my family practice doctor, when it came to well woman's exams; however, as I grew older, I knew that I needed to select a specialist. I couldn't think of anyone better than Dr. Holt; for, I remembered how nice he was to me, as a student, and his formidable bedside manner that I saw him exhibiting with his patients. After the visit, I was very pleased. He actually took the time to listen to my concerns and even suggested that we look into them further by doing additional testing and referral. I am truly glad I selected Dr. Holt and his awesome staff, to care for my gynecological needs!

I have been a patient of Dr. Byron Holt for 33 years and would highly recommend Dr. Holt. In fact I recommend him to everyone when I am asked about an Ob/Gyn. I love my doctor and I refuse to go to anyone other than Dr. Holt. He has the most excellent, excellent bedside manor there is; and he is so patient with his patients. He always makes sure that you understand exactly what's going on with your health and he makes sure that he explains it to you in laymans terms so you do understand. There is not another doctor like him or that can come close. Todd Holt has some very big shoes to fill but has "THE" best role model there is. I hope that he the same with his patients as his dad is. Every woman in Houston and the surrounding area should be seeing Dr. Byron Holt and Dr. Todd Holt as well. Thank you Dr. Holt!
