Cara Dubroff is a Board Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner who joined Downtown Women OB/GYN in April 2019. She received her BA in gender studies from Barnard College, her BS in nursing from Columbia University and her MS in nursing from UMDNJ. Cara has worked in women’s health care since 2006; her prior experience includes both Planned Parenthood and private practice.
Cara is a native New Yorker and has been a passionate advocate for women’s health since she was a peer counselor in high school. She enjoys working with women of all ages and strongly believes in encouraging women to take an active role in their own care.
At Downtown Women OB/GYN, Cara enjoys caring for women during the menopausal transition. She also provides routine gynecological care, including well-woman visits, diagnosis and treatment of vaginal infections, STI testing and treatment, birth control education, and management of basic gynecologic disorders.

I was a new patient. The office asked me to arrive 20 minutes before for paperwork —This is also because they push you to sign up for the online portal and don’t have a way for patients to fill out paperwork digitally? It’s 2022.
My appointment time passes. I wait a full hour and everyone in the waiting room has been called except me. 10+ people arrive for later appointments and are called ahead of me. The entire time I waited, no one acknowledged me. I finally approached the receptionist and the only answer I got was that my Dr. was with another patient.
I was seen 90 minutes after my appointment time (they apologized). I also had to push to actually have a Pap smear because the provider said it’s now standard to have one every 5 years instead of annually (wouldn’t someone tell me this on the phone before? I said what I was coming in for). I am high risk and had already waited over an hour and was not going to leave without one. I really question the level of care I received here.
