She earned her Bachelors of Science degree from Rutgers University and completed her MSN/ Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Working in various mental health settings, including inpatient and outpatient psychiatry in the Northern New Jersey and Virginia area has afforded her the opportunity to encounter a multitude of demographic groups and therapy models.

Guys….. let me just say her last name is Best for a reason. I’ve never experienced a provider that takes the time to really listen, and is so thorough in trying to find a solution. She is super responsive and quick to reply if I need anything with medication changes and experience new symptoms.
Before this I had really had a hard time finding someone that would listen and I’m finally being heard.
Can’t recommend her enough, a diamond in the rough that is the overwhelming-ness of Zocdoc.

All of the reviews are correct. I really, really, really, really like Carissa. She listens well, she really takes her time, she makes me feel like someone who matters. How rare is that in our day and age? Also -- she gets how difficult it can be navigate insurance and pharmacies, even asking me to contact her if anything happened with trouble getting my medication with the pharmacy or my insurance. She is a genuinely fantastic provider and I'm a big fan.
