Dr. Carmen Sandridge, DO
Dr. Carmen Anita Sandridge, a board certified physician in Internal Medicine, came to Philadelphia to fulfill her childhood dreams. She dreamed a world of a healthy people with supportive families. She graduated from University of Memphis and earned a Bachelors of Science degree. Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine accepted her in 1998 where she was a distinguished graduate in the class of 2002. She was a member of the Student National Medical Association, Medical Explorers, Internal Medicine club and Sigma Sigma Phi honor society. During her first year of medical school, she chose to work in the Bridging the Gaps summer program with young people in the West Philadelphia area. She encouraged them to take life seriously and get an education. Her medical path led her to St. Joseph’s Hospital in north Philadelphia to complete her internship. The physician and hospital staff chose her as the Intern of the Year and she received the Most Compassionate award. As she completed her residency at Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown, those doctors also chose her as Chief of Internal. As a member of Blake Gastroenterology Associates, she embraces the vision to provide early colon cancer screenings. They are on a mission to service and educate the community through one patient at a time. She truly believes “to whom much is given much is required.” She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association Admission committee of PCOM, and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. Dr. Sandridge is honored to be a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. which was founded in 1913. She serves on the Physical/Mental Health and Scholarship committees. She is also an active member of the Montgomery County Chapter of the Links, Inc. where she serves on the Health Facet and Strategic Planning Committee.
