On May 19, I gave birth to my first child and needed access to a lactation consultant once I arrived home with my baby. To find a provider with immediate availability, I utilized zocdoc's search function. When searching for lactation consultants that have in person appointments who accept my insurance, almost all of the providers listed belong to Garden OBGYN. I then made an appointment but reached out to their texting service to confirm. Their texting service confirmed to me that the appointment I made through zocdoc was unavailable but could reschedule me for a later time the same day. I then confirmed it was for a lactation consultation and received an affirmative yes from them via text. When I arrived for the appointment I was seen by Nahid Afraz (who is also listed under my search) who informed me that they don't provide these services and they can refer me to a lactation consultant. This was a waste of time and a huge imposition with a new born baby.
