I have taken classes regarding controlling my glucose previously. Carrie is the best diatician I have had. She explains the why we eat the fibers and proteins. Very, very helpful in finding the foods I like to continue my goals and not feel deprived. I highly recommend her.

I'm just like you. I struggle with drinking the recommended 8 glasses of water daily, I struggle getting in my exercise throughout the week, and I can't resist the temptation to have a Reese's every now and then. I got news for you! We are not all perfect. Which means there's no such thing as a perfect diet or a perfect lifestyle. It's all about balance and moderation.
That's how I approach nutrition with my patients as well and they see great results! I'm not going to force you to eat kale and quinoa. Instead, I'll help you find the lifestyle that will work best for you so you can have the results you want and keep them long-term.
Like you, I also struggle with my own health issues. In 2018, I was officially diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). This medical condition increases my risk for developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease. All of which is caused by a hormonal imbalance resulting in significant weight gain. Because of these risk factors I now face, this makes it even more important for me to be on top of my health.
When I assess my patients, I also look at other factors that can cause weight gain, high blood sugars, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. Chronic stress, poor sleep, and lack of exercise also impact our eating habits which can make or break our ability to be the healthiest we can be. I look at the person as a whole, not just one piece of the puzzle.
As I go through my own health journey, you can bet I will provide the latest research to not only help myself prevent the onset of diabetes and heart disease, but also help my patients improve their own health and reduce their need for medication.
