Dr. Catherine Tan completed her O.D. degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and received her B.S. degree in Biochemistry from U.C. San Diego. In the course of her career, Dr. Tan has acquired a great deal of experience fulfilling the diverse needs of many patient populations across the United States. She has worked with underserved populations in Bethel, Alaska, provided LASIK co-management at the American Eye Institute, performed speciality contact lens fittings at Dr. Jay Schlanger's office in Los Angeles, and worked extensively on geriatric eye pathologies at the Connecticut VA hospital.
Dr. Tan has been caring for patients in the Murrieta area since 2004. She continues to stay current on all aspects of modern optometry, attending major conferences nationwide and investing many hours into her own continuing education. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and San Diego County Optometric Society. In her leisure time, Dr. Tan enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys Taekwondo, music, and photography.

She has a wonderful selection of frames and is very knowledgeable about the different products available. She was very thorough in my eye exam and told me everything about my exam so that I could know what was happening and how my eyes were.
She is very professional.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Tan yesterday. She and her staff were wonderful. Dr. Tan was professional and made me feel well taken care of. Her receptionist was absolutely the best. Recently, I went to see Dr.Tan for a routine yearly exam. Her office looks very professional with a warm feeling. This had to be the most thorough eye exam I have ever had! She took an hour to complete my exam. Dr.Tan asked many questions, that I never had been asked before. She really took a genuine interest in making sure I understood my eye, my prescription, and care for my contact lenses. At the end of the exam, she tried several different lenses on my eye to assess the curvature of the lens. Apparently, I had been wearing a lens that didn't fit correctly. I'm so glad she was on my insurance list of participating doctors!!
