I really enjoyed my visit with Dr.okoye! She was very patient and listened to all my concerns. I was very comfortable
Verified patient
In regards to the office building, it was easy to find, ample parking, and well organized. The front desk staff was professional and friendly, when I arrived I was greeted and assisted immediately, even as a new patient, when I completed the paperwork I was called back within 5 minutes (or less). Dr. Okoye was friendly, a good listener, and extremely thorough. I didn't feel there was a time constraint with the doctor, she had ample time to discuss and review my history and get a clearer understanding of my overall health and concerns.

More about Dr. Chinelo Okoye, MD

I graduated from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 2005 and completed my residency in Internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC in 2008. I started my practice working shifts in various urgent care and occupational medicine settings and then I joined IPC at St Luke’s medical center in Houston as a Hospitalist for about 2 years. I subsequently joined Michael E DeBakey VA Medical center in Houston where I worked for over 4 years taking care of our nation’s veterans. While at the VA, I was on faculty with Baylor College of Medicine and was responsible for teaching residents and medical students. It is important to me that I get to know my patients and that I understand their daily lives and daily challenges. I believe that this is essential to providing the best care that is appropriate for each patient. I am also a big believer in educating my patients about their health conditions. I feel that patients do better when they are empowered with knowledge about their health conditions and knowledge of what they can do to keeptheir health conditions under control. I am also big on prevention. I will take the time to encourage my patients to make necessary lifestyle changes and assist them with the process. I am married with 2 children, a set of boy and girl twins. I am a Christian and a member of a Catholic church in the Houston area. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family and friends.

My interaction with this office goes beyond my worst experiences anywhere else: 1- Office staff is rude and incompetent (submitted my wrong insurance to the lab, which I discovered upon receiving a hefty bill). 2- Did not follow up with test results via phone - sent my results to me in the mail (which, mind you, I never received) 3- When I called to inquire about all of the above, I was on the phone for 40 minutes and at the end of it all nothing had been accomplished 4- The office itself does not seem clean 5- Doctor herself seemed very nervous throughout the exchange and was not thorough in asking questions during her examination
The wait was a little long. For new patients they ask that you show up 30 min early to complete paperwork. The paperwork is pretty substantial, so it did take about 20 minutes for the paperwork. However, I do believe this is only for new patients. The wait after that was a little long; they didn't call me back until about 15-20 minutes after my scheduled time even though I was about 35 minutes early. The appointment was a little long, but Dr. Okeye was attentive and seemed to genuinely care about providing me the entirety of the care that I needed. I was there for a bout 2 hours or so in total. Overall, it was a good experience. Dr. Okeye provided me with full information about my health and everyone in the office was very nice. I will most likely be returning and make Dr. Okeye my primary doctor.

Promising
Great Staff and Team Quick easy going flow in the office i felt welcomed and learned a few thing about my issue i went in for and i was helpful not an annoyed feeling you get when you know your health is not well
Verified patient
Dr. Okoye was efficient and thorough, gave a nice differential with appropriate labs to evaluate after the physical exam. She discharged me so I could go home and rest and called by the end of the day to give results and tell me what she recommended as treatment. The appropriate medications were called in to my pharmacy within minutes. Her staff was very nice, wait time was extremely short.
Verified patient
She's a very kind doctor.

Great experience. From the front desk, to the PA to Dr. Okoye. Nice to find such a well run office and a physician who is efficient and considerate of your time and schedule. Have recommended to many others.
Verified patient
My 2nd visit and I am amazed by her patience and bedside manner. She really takes time to understand you as a patient, something which I wish all the doctors would do. This is definitely my new primary care doc
I was appreciative of her honesty of my condition. I went to her for a second opinion on my recent diagnosis, and explained this upfront and she was honest and treated me as if I had gone to her all along. Short wait time for a very productive office. I would recommend her to any of my friends.
Verified patient
Dr. Okoye is amazing, however my prescriptions did not get called in to the pharmacy and I didn't find out until 2 hours later when I went to pick them up. When I called the office to let them know, they didn't even have record of 1 of the 2 prescriptions. So despite the fact that everyone is super nice, having to wait on hold for another 10-20 minutes/make multiple phone calls on top of my appointment to track down my prescriptions is highly inconvenient.
Verified patient
I love it here and I always feel welcomed and cared for. It is also very nice to get blood drawn in house, versus going to a lab in a different building/location. Dr. Okoye and her staff are amazing.
Verified patient
Took the time to listen to me explain my injury and documented everything I said as well as answered all of my questions. Even though I went in for injuey and not an illness, she did review my health history with me to understand me as her patient a bit more.
Verified patient
The visit was great. she was nice and gave me the name of a medication she wanted me to research to determine if I want to take.
Verified patient
Dr. Okoye is AWESOME and so is her nurse, Anna!! They were so friendly and welcoming and since I am a new patient, I was excited to get to work with them in the future!! AND the office staff was organized and punctual and things moved right along so the wait time was very minimal, mainly because I was filling out the initial paperwork.
Verified patient
This doctor and nurse team is the best. I first started seeing them soon after I lost my son. They saw my pain, helped me and checked up on me. I highly recommend them.
Verified patient
The office was efficient and the staff was friendly. Dr. Okoye was very thorough and professional and took as much time as needed to answer any questions. I would recommend her and this practice.
Verified patient
Dr. Okoye is super nice and the nurse and administrative staff are awesome too. I felt at ease immediately and Dr. Okoye and her nurse took the time to ask me detailed questions. I left there feeling so much better just knowing that she will be my doctor now. Very nice office too! Friendly people everywhere.
