My experience with Chris has been exceptionally well. He's very knowledgeable and understanding of the endocrine system. One thing I noticed is that unlike other anti aging clinics is that he's affordable and also he recommended a calcium scoring test. Which is important if your plan on needing trt. My past doctor didn't think I needed testosterone,which hindered me dearly. Ever since I got reinstated with Chris my life has become much better and more stabilized since.

Chris Backsman is a Tampa native and double board-certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. He has a broad background in healthcare with experience in emergency medicine, family medicine, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and optimization, as well as medical weight loss. Chris decided to specialize in HRT after becoming an HRT patient himself and discovering the myriad benefits associated with this therapy.
He earned an Associate's degree from Hillsborough Community College, a Bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix, and holds undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Nursing. Chris attended the University of Tampa, where he earned his Master's of Science in Nursing in 2015, graduating with honors. He views patient care and wellness as a partnership between provider and patient and works to find solutions that meet the needs of each patient as a whole and unique individual.
His clinical interests include preventative healthcare, sexual health and wellness, hormone replacement therapy, and behavior-based medically supervised weight management.
When Chris is not focused on helping patients reach their individual health goals, he devotes his time to his family. He enjoys family trips to Disney World and vacations both locally and internationally. He also appreciates cinema, theatre, and cultural exploration through travel and immersion.
As the founder and owner of Optimized Health and Wellness, Chris shares his story and passion with his clients. His introduction to hormone therapy was as a patient. For several years, he noticed his energy levels tanking. He struggled to manage work and home responsibilities, let alone maintain healthy eating and exercise habits. He was obese and unhappy with his appearance and overall health, having lost much of the muscle mass he once had as a vibrant young adult. He generally felt horrible much of the time, and his libido needed help as well.
