He is one of the few doctors I have met who actually takes the time to listen to your concerns and then he will give you an explanation, he listens to the patient and he follows up. He is very knowledgeable and nice.

I have been coming this clinic for a long time under Dr Alexis David practice. Dr Gerard was very nice person as well. He was very informative and I liked his bedside manner as well. However, his nurse was very very rude. She has lack of sympathy against patients. She was behaving like I was a burden for her. She seem to hate her job. She was talking as "put the face mask on", "give me your finger". She definitely needs a training for how to interact with patients and first lesson is the learning the word "please".
We as patients come to clinics due to illnesses and we were already having a hard day due to degrading physical health. Unless they improve their staff, I will have to look for another clinic.

Dr. Gerard completed a Master's in Biological Science at Florida State University and is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. He completed his internship and residency with Valley Family Medicine in Renton and is Board Certified in Family Practice. Dr. Gerard joined the practice in 2013.
Dr. Gerard enjoys caring for the entire family from newborns to grandparents. He has a special interest in wilderness and travel medicine and is a Fellow candidate in the Wilderness Medical Society.
From skiing, climbing, trail running, and mountain biking - Dr. Gerard enjoys just about anything he can do outdoors.

I’m new to the Seattle area so I didn’t have a primary doctor but was experiencing arm pain, which is why I made mh appointment and I made it clear the reason why I was going in. Not sure how my sex life and what I would do if I got pregenant would come up with arm pain but I won’t go back. While I understand primary physicians are cabable of several things, if I wanted to talk about my sex life I would have gone to a gynecologist. I felt extremely uncomfortable since it had nothing to do with why I was looking to be seen. I would also understand if I made it clear I wanted him to be my permanent primary physician but I just wanted I get my arm looked at.

I went in to see Dr. Gerard for a back spasms as he was the closest doctor I could see on short order. Previously, per primary doctors recommendations I would take a couple days worth of prescription muscle relaxers and relax my back and I would be fine.
Additionally, I was also having issues sleep issues due to the aforementioned back pain. I asked for a 2-3 day prescription of sleep aid and muscle relaxers to get through my current back issues.
However, Dr. Gerard was quick to tell me that this was a bad approach and that I just needed to let time heal my back. After pleading with him to just prescribe muscle relaxers he asked me choose between the sleep aid or the muscle relaxers as "it looks bad when someone asks for two scheduled drugs in one visit". He spent no time to evaluate my condition or contact my previous doctor to confirm my previous treatment methods.
He treated me like some junky and it was a really bad feeling. I've since decide to see another care provider that actually evaluated my condition and I've been great since!

Overall a good experience. Everyone at the front desk were friendly and took time to explain any question I had.
I found Dr. Gerard easy to talk too, and he explained everything clearly, he seems very interested in what you have to say.

Dr. Gerard is very thorough, he asks many questions and really listens to the answers. I have always found that this allows him to get a good handle on the situation and recommend the appropriate treatment.
I have been so pleased with his competence that I have recommended him to three other members of my household and they have also really liked him and found him very thorough, helpful and accurate. I brought my teenage daughter in to see him a couple of times and on each occasion he was able to decipher from her symptoms and a thorough exam what was the cause of her problem. He also took the time to explain to her with diagrams and a detailed explanation what was happening so that she had a very clear understanding of her ailment. He always gives the impression that he has time to answer all your questions until it makes sense to you. He is a doctor who really informs you and empowers you to take care of yourself and understand your health.
I think he is exceptional and I have a high level of trust in his care. I am thankful to have found such a caring, intelligent and competent family doctor!

I think that it's very strange for a family doctor to think that a baby I came with is 1 month old, when she is 6! My overall impression was that doc was either very distracted or not knowledgeable enough.

Being new to the area and taking a "shot in the dark" from the internet, I was pleasantly impressed. The staff was pleasant, competent and efficient.
Dr. Gerard was friendly, knowledgeable, patient and helpful with my concerns. He took his time and was not rushed in the least. This was my first visit but I'm happy I chose him out of many.

My whole life, I was opposed to the idea of a man doing my gynecological exams, etc. Dr. Gerard has shocked me with his professionalism and expertise. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in various birth control methods.

Doctor Gerard was very knowledgeable, and he had good rapport with his Nurse, Tesa. It was very easy to ask him questions and get straight answers. I had a very pleasant visit, even though I often get very anxious about going to the doctor. I felt at ease as soon as I got into the appointment.

I had my first visit with Dr. Gerard and I can say I've finally found my doctor! I really like that he isn't the type of Doctor that just hands out pills if you have a problem, instead he looks at natural alternatives.. I really truly believe he cares about his patients and loves his job.

Dr. Gerard is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. My previous doctor suggested anxiety medication when I said I *sometimes* have trouble sleeping. I was specifically looking for doctor that will not attempt to throw medication at every little problem, and I believe I've found such a doctor.

I moved to Washington from Texas a year ago and am looking for a new primary care physician here. I also needed two prescriptions that my primary care doctor in Texas provided. Dr Gerard wrote one but not the other because he said "he didn't know me" and "that I might be a pill shopper". I didn't have a way to prove I am not a pill shopper and don't know what would be required for Dr Gerard to get to know me so I left without the prescription I needed and no way to get it. The nurse and the reception staff were excellent and I was seen in a very timely manner, but I am back to square one on finding a primary care doctor.

Dr. Gerard was kind, considerate, and thorough. He explained everything he was doing, including what he was writing in my chart. He has a no nonsense, ethical and scientific approach to medicine. Additionally, the entire staff at the clinic was professional and helpful.

Nurses were great. Very fast wait times. Doctor himself made me feel a bit uncomfortable and I don't think he did as thorough of a job during my physical as other physicals I have had in the past. Really straight edge guy. Probably would have been called a square in the 70's.
