Worst experience I've ever had with an MD. What should have been a routine follow-up call, in which I was attempting to receive information about my upcoming surgery -- while calmly responding to his rudeness and condescension -- ended with him abruptly hanging up the phone on me like an insolent child. But let's rewind a bit.
I had read the reviews about his bedside manner before I went in, but gave him the benefit of the doubt. He was abrasive during the visit, but I'm not the sensitive type and can deal with abrasive personalities if I think that the person I'm dealing with is at least competent. I was told by Dr Johnson during that appointment that I should expect to be contacted by his office with a definite date for my surgery, which I was told by Dr. Johnson would be one of two open dates for which I said I'd be available.
Fast-forward almost a month later, I still haven't heard back from his office, so today I call and leave a message (with an answering service) following up. He calls me back later in the day and tells me that I am scheduled for a day that we had never even discussed (mind you it was a *Saturday*, and he claimed to only perform surgeries on Fridays). When I pointed out that I'd never been given a definite day, and that the date he told me was in fact a Saturday, he first sounded confused and apologetic, but then asked me at which location I wanted to have the surgery performed. I calmly explained that I hadn't been contacted with any specifics about locations, at which point Dr Johnson aggressively began asking me whether or not I even want to have the surgery performed, bizarrely cut me off each time I started to talk, and insulted my ability to follow instructions that I had never even been given. When I -- again calmly -- asked him if he could let me finish explaining to him the information (and lack thereof) that I had been given at the time of my visit and the month since, he replied, "no, because I don't have time to have long, protracted conversations..." The total call length was 3 minutes -- I'm looking at my call log right now. He then asked if I wanted to make a follow-up appointment to discuss a surgery date (again). At this point I had heard enough, and politely said, you know what, no thank you" at which point he just hung up the phone on me as if I was telemarketer calling him during Sunday dinner.
Before I visited Dr Johnson I had read a review somewhere else which ended with "STEER CLEAR - you have been warned." Usually when I read reviews with that sort of extreme reaction I view them with extreme skepticism, and I give them much less credibility. Sadly, in Dr Johnson's case, that sentiment is spot-on.

Would not recommend. There was terrible bed side manner by the physician on several occasions and once the procedure was completed the doctor did not come and speak to me himself. I was also suppose to have a follow up after the procedure but no one told me the date or time and the doctor proceeded to scold me by telling me that I need to schedule an appointment although that is exactly what I kept trying to do. I had to either wait several hours for my appointment or several appointments were cancelled because the doctor was not available but I was not notified until I already traveled there for the appointment.

Incredibly rude. He would cut me off and answer my questions with condescension because he was the professional and knows what he's doing.
I was not able to undergo the procedure because of the lack of respect.

Mr. Johnson is very unprofessional and disorganized. He doesn't keep appointments on time. I recently had an operation done by him. I show up early at 7 am ready for my surgery scheduled at 9 am. He did not show up until 10:30 am. In addition, he swapped my case. I was up for the procedure 1st and he took the 2nd case first which took 4 hours to complete when mine was only 40 minutes. I was so frustrated with his lack of professionalism and not communicating to me why he swapped my case. I sat at the hospital for 8 hours, couldn't eat or drink. When it was finally my turn he yelled and disrespected me in front of other staff members and blamed me for being inpatient. Not even apologizing to me for having to wait so long. I was humiliated and was crying because of how rude and nasty he was. I had to make an appointment with a different doctor for my post op care and to get my stitches removed.

I had a rhinoplasty and nasal surgery performed by Dr. Johnson. From the initial consultation to the post-opt visits he was incredibly professional, helpful, and accommodating. I initially saw him at his office in Midtown. He explained everything about the procedure and what to expect clearly to me. I was initially planning to have the surgery performed at a surgery center on the Upper East Side; however, because that facility was not able to accommodate me on the day I wanted to have surgery, Dr. Johnson suggested that he would be able to perform it at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. The facility and the staff there were wonderful. The surgery went very well. Three days after surgery, I had a follow up appointment with Dr. Johnson where he removed the packing from my nose and I saw my alter nose for the first time. Although still swollen, I was very pleased! In the time since, as the swelling has subsided I'm more and more satisfied with the results! It was a job well done! I'd highly recommend Dr. Johnson. He is truly an incredibly talented surgeon!

The doctor had a patient when I came , in between his movement he came to greet me , apologized for the delay. He told me he will be done soon. He kept on checking if I was okay in the waiting arear
He made me feel very comfortable and welcomed.
He is very professional in his approach kind, caring about patients. His communication skills are excellent. His bed side manner is very good. He fully examine , takes detailed history. He makes time for his patients. You don't feel rushed.
His amazing accolades , resume and highly respected medical schools like Havard is what brought me to his practice but his professional sevice will definitely make me be his long term client. His humbliness as such a highly experienced surgeon with so many years of practice is striking.
He goes out of his way to accommodate the patients and discuss the budget and affordability . He truly cares about his patients more than making money from patients. He showed me the file of his amazing work he has done with patients over the years this gave me even more reassurance that I am in the right hands. He makes things seems easy, he scheduled surgery quicker than I thought it would be. It was a best decision choosing Dr Johnson today
