Dr. Claudio Diaz-Socarras was born and raised in Cuba. After moving to Venezuela he went to medical school at Universidad Central in Caracas. He transferred to Central America Health Sciences University in Belize where he earned his medical degree.
Dr. Diaz-Socarras completed his first year of postgraduate training in Family Medicine at HUMC/University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) where he developed a special interest in Women’s Health. He soon realized that he wanted to concentrate his efforts in this area. He then completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at NUMC, a major affiliate of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook.
During his residency Dr. Diaz-Socarras conducted research in areas of antenatal testing in order to reduce cesarean delivery rates. He also developed a particular interest in pelvic surgery techniques and its application in high-risk obstetrical cases and the improvement of pregnancy outcomes.
Dr. Diaz-Socarras is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) since 2016; he is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG) since 2017. Dr. Diaz-Socarras provides comprehensive care to women of all ages in a very compassionate way.

The sonographer did not speak English so I would have like an English speaking person in the room. It was pretty traumatizing miscarrying but not knowing what was going on since the nurse couldn’t communicate with me. The doctor also asked me to Google rate him after I found out about the miscarriage I thought this was poor taste. He was nice however and the wait was short.

He was attentive and informative. I set an appointment to consult with Dr. Diaz-Socarras about the benefits of different IUD contraceptives. He gladly answered my questions and shared his knowledge on each IUD he offers at his clinic. He told me which ones were his favorite and shared a little on the effectiveness of each.

I've NEVER met a doctor like Dr. Diaz-Socarras he was so understanding, so helpful, I was an emotional wreck and he calmed me down tremendously. He's extremely professional with a heart of gold. To start off, the facility was extremely clean and the receptionist desk had a very kind woman that helped with my new patient forms.
The appointment started right on time and Dr. Claudio was attentive and conversational. His bedside manner was kind and caring without feeling in a rush. I have never sat in a doctors appointment and felt so at ease.
He provided a lot of resources on his website as well- just in case I had questions about anything beyond what was covered in the appointment.
Overall super impressed with my experience here and will return.

Dr. Diaz is amazing and has amazing staff. They make me feel like I am family. For anything that he does he makes sure to give a detailed explanation. He really cares about his patients. He made my pregnancy feel very important. During delivery he is amazing. He does not rush you. He really wants the best for you and the baby. It was a beautiful experience. The way he goes about things is very genuine and from the heart. I have never met a better doctor. I trust him greatly and would recommend him to anyone. Choosing him as your doctor is a step in the right direction. You will always be guided with what is best for you with him. He never pressures you into anything. He makes sure to lay out all your options for everything.
