After graduating, she completed a transitional internship year at Hospital Damas in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She thereafter completed one year as a research fellow in San Juan City Hospital and went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology also in San Juan city Hospital. Dr. Mendez Gomez always had an interest in research, leading her to be a part of ongoing studies at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Mayo Clinic. Her interest in Women’s Health led her to be a Research Fellow for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at San Juan City Hospital. Her research was focused on Hispanic pregnant women living in Puerto Rico. Currently, she strives to provide the best obstetric and gynecologic care for women of all ages. Dr. Mendez Gomez is fluent in English and Spanish.
