I was born and raised in Longview, WA. My father (a retired family physician) and mother (an enthusiastic dabbler in Chinese medicine) played a large role in my decision to pursue education in both Western and Chinese medicine. After four years of training, I received my Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) degree: learning Chinese medicine modalities such as acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, moxibustion, massage, and gua sha. Afterwards, I obtained my MD degree from Oregon Health & Science University. Within family medicine, I am particularly interested in integrative medicine, addiction medicine, geriatrics, and palliative care. In my free time, I enjoy reading non-fiction books, traveling, playing the piano, and watching horror movies.
