Great doctor, extremely personable and helpful.
Dr. Berent has been my physician for probably 15 years. Even though I now live 35 miles away from Austin, I keep coming to him because he's sharp, honest, listens to my issues, and his diagnoses have been correct for my issues. He's willing to offer practical solutions, such as exercises and diet recommendations that may avoid future problems. His focus is on quality and not quantity. Give him a call! Judy H
Efficient, professional, and well-strategized. Professional staff and well-managed facility.
Very knowledgeable. The kind that comes with experience.
Dr Berent is a very good physician. If you are looking for a good doctor he is the one to choose.
Went for a check up, they were suppose to get my records still haven't heard from them. That was 2 months ago.
I haven't seen a primary care Doctor in years, but after having a few symptoms l went in to see Dr. Berent. He was very friendly and easy to talk to. I'm a bit of a hypochondriac, but he was able to ease my mind and give me suggestions on how to alleviate the problems I was having. Would definitely recommend him!
As he has been for the past 20 years, Craig Berent really listened to me in re my issue. He suggested a course of action and made a referral to a specialist. Dr. Berent is a superb GP.
I am happy enough with Dr. Berent to have used him for about fifteen years
He seemed disinterested, like he couldn't understand why I brought my son in to see him. He referred him to a dermatologist. His office was also very difficult to find.
Very professional, attentive and efficient.
Very unfriendly and no beside manner not a good physician
Professional and knowledgeable. I am a retired RN, so I know a good Doc when I see him.
Dr. Berent has wisdom in addition to scientific medical knowledge.
Staff was very friendly!
Both times that I have seen this doctor, he had absolutely no respect for what I was telling him. I have found him very rude and will not see him again. My concerns were also confirmed when I got a second opinion from a different doctor.
Good first visit, didn’t keep me waiting, direct but friendly.
Excellent physician. Never a wait time and can always get an appointment without waiting.
Pleasant, professional, informative, and friendly. What a great doctor.
Bereft has been my doctor for 12 yrs. You are not a number to him, and he always gives you straight answers and no BS.
Told me to get an xray of my ribs which I later figured out was EXTREMELY unreasonable and unprofessional due to the radiation received for the Xrays in the ab area and given I had no sharp pain in my ribs to call for it. Next doctor said he should have told me to get an ultrasound and that rib xray would have been the last option because the radiation. Dr. Craig didnt even tell me that was an option or thats what I should do. Incredible. Thanks for pointless radiation doc. Hope it doesn’t increase my chances of cancer because your negligent practice. Why didn’t you just tell me to get an ultrasound?
Very professional, caring and kind. Dr. Berent is a true gem.
Laid back office, great doctor, quick and efficient.
Thanks Dr B for listening to me and helping me
Very quick and easy process. Good bed side manner.
I normally don't write reviews, but this one is a must. I will NEVER see this doctor again. He is judgmental and VERY impatience. As a person like myself that doesn't like going to the doctors, you would at least expect the doctor to care to SOME degree about your well being and establish some type of comfort. No not with Dr. Berent. I receive none of that. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I need a hug or a pat on the back, but my goodness Dr. Berent barely even answer the questioned I asked and if he did, they were all one to two worded unclear responses. On the judgmental comment, I went in to get tested as I always do every six months. The first words out of Dr. Berent mouth as he walked in was "So I see we still are not practicing safe sex". wow or maybe I just like the peace of mind knowing I'm clean, great assumption "Doctor". On the Impatience comment. My appointment was at 11:15, it was very clear he was in a rush to finish and I guess go to lunch because once he finished and left. I remember a followed up question that he didn't answer while he was in there. This "doctor" comes back in and with the gesture's of pointing at his watch and basically telling me to hurry up so that he can get back to whatever he was doing, he again answers my question with a one worded response. Mind you, there was nobody else in the lobby, so its not like he had 15 people waiting on him. I just couldn't believe the nerve of this doctor. His nurse isn't any better, she forever has an attitude. My bad, I didn't make you pick that job. So sorry to be a burden on you. I would NOT recommend this doctor to anybody, especially people in my age group of late 20's. What a joke.
Dr. Berent himself was great. He seemed attentive and wanted to tackle the issue I was dealing with. However, the nurse and secretary/clerk were rude, cold, and it took us calling them multiple times to get simple lab results well over a week after the labs were drawn. When calling to ask questions, the answer was always "the nurse will call you tomorrow," (which was rarely true) or there was no answer at all. My wife had to go to the ER for her condition, and when trying to contact Dr. Berent's office to follow up, we got no response. Basically, Dr. Berent seems to care and has good bedside manner, but the office as a whole is not pleasant or easy to interact with. I recommend looking elsewhere.
There's a reason he's voted top doc in Austin by other docs. Very nice and very knowledgeable,of course!!
Excellent Doctor and stuffs!!! I would highly recommend.
Great and knowledgeable. Honest and kind. Will not beat around the bush or be overly friendly if thats what you look for in a medical provider.
Awful experience. Over half an hour late for apointment. Rushed to get me out the door, small cramped office, had to take my shirt off, opened the door while I was half dressed. Completely unprofessional. Made me feel like a burdon. Never ever go here.
He was traight and to the point, kind, and informative.
Very professional; thorough, caring, and a sense of humor.
Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Made me feel comfortable. Very nice doctor. Provided a reference for a gynecologist.
Excellent doctor. Period!
I felt that my appointment was rushed and my concerns were overlooked. I trusted some reviews I had seen before following through with three different appointments. Going to other doctors now. Maybe I caught Dr. Berent on a slew of bad days, but I would not recommend him to friends or family.
Dr. Berent is always so nice. I've never waited more than 15-20 minutes to see him. Some days, I'm out of there in 15 minutes.
I really like how professional, yet inviting Dr. Berent is. He treated me with respect as a patient, and I could tell he had my well-being in mind. Not only that, his office staff was very quick to process my new patient paperwork, and I was in and out in under an hour. I will definitely be coming back!
Very professional, and non-judgemental
Dr Berent was great. He identified my issues and prescribed the necessary meds. He took me as a client even though I dont have insurance, and he isnt insanely expensive. He changed my life by giving me the correct medicine. Thanks Doc :)
I agree with previous reviews that staff was slightly unprofessional and handwriting was impossible to read. The clinic is very tiny and I was the only person there, so I shouldn't have had to wait, but I was in and out much quicker than other clinics.
His staff is unprofessional. They sent me away with the only copy of my diagnosis that the x ray technician at another facility needed for the appointment and the doctors handwriting was completely illegible. I mean, you couldn't even read my own name on it. So when the technician called dr berent's office, the receptionist was completely rude go the technician and was like, "she has leg pain." When I was there for a chest x Ray.. You would know what I was there for if she photo copied the diagnosis form and kept it for their files like a professional office would do instead of sending me, the patient, away with the only copy. The doctor himself was not polite, didn't take the time to listen, and felt obviously uncomfortable because I was there in a dress. He barley examined what I considered to be the problem area, and frankly, the whole practice felt like a darn joke. I would NOT recommend him to any single on of my friends or family especially now that I know how unprofessional and rude his staff can be. Like how do you not photo copy the paperwork you send your patient home with especially if that Doctor has bad handwriting than most doctors, and that's saying a lot.
Very good listener. Patient and willing to get down to what my issues actually were. Never felt the hustle and bustle like being pushed out of the room from other doctors. Coming from Boston, I am a bit particular with my health care provider and I'd say he fit the bill for what I was looking for.
Doctor Berent was very helpful and attentive.
Arguably the worst experience I've ever had with a medical professional. Got defensive when I attempted to question if there was anything else I could be doing, I attempted to ask a handful of questions and was greeted with short, obscure responses while he kept glancing at the door, and out-and-out refused to order bloodwork I requested. He was short, somewhat rude, and seemed significantly uninformed on everything I was asking. Also, when queried for a referral, couldn't provide one. For someone that's been voted 'best doctor by peers' for something like 5 years, I'd have expected him to have at least one professional contact's information, instead of paging through an old book and giving me the number to a popular clinic.
It is nice to feel looked after and time taken to understand what is going on.
He was too robotic in the process, more humanity or empathy or compassion for my chronic pain by doctor possibly asking more thorough questions about my pain so he can understand my problems, and help me understand them-as well as how to alleviate pain in the meantime-, he seemed to just want my past records first more than wanting to hear my symptoms. Although I trust his initial consultation and am hopeful about the blood tests he ordered, it would have improved my patient satisfaction to end each doctor visit with confirmation of what was discussed, and what steps the doctor and patient have agreed to do until the next Doctor visit. I hope he can figure out what other doctors have failed to diagnose in the past four years!
I sought out Dr. Berent after my PCP office closed. The office is a bit strange--it is more like a short hallway with a few rooms off of it--but the ladies up front are friendly. Dr. Berent is friendly and caring and I don't feel rushed through my appointment, but both times I have gone in with an urgent need he has made referrals. This is frustrating because I end up racking up copays and wasting time at various appointments. While I appreciate his hesitancy to jump to conclusions and his desire to get another opinion, I wish he would take into consideration what I want for my own treatment instead of sending me elsewhere.
Dr. Berent was absolutely incredible. He was patient, kind, and listened to me very well. He showed real concern for my well-being. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.
Excellent doctor! Never takes chances with my health.
We like Doctor Berent. The wait time was minimal and he is a friendly and professional doctor.
Quick and to the point, I really felt that Dr. Berent was extremely professional.
Fast and easy.
He's a great Dr. I have been seeing him once a month every month since. I went in to get checked for migraines and he has been a huge help. Most Dr's just medicated me up and send me home. Not Dr Berent. He was more than helpful as far starting me on meds that would help control migraines rather than mask them. So far I have been doing great and look forward to my Dr appointments because he is a fabulous Dr.
Dr. Berent is great. He communicates and listens well and had me in and out super fast with all my concerns addressed.
A super kind doctor and sweet ladies up front, a super welcoming feeling overall.
Just moved and was looking for a new doctor. Great experience with Dr. Berent! Was able to get an appointment within a week as a new patient.
Great integrity and personality, fluent in his field and very understanding
Got in and out and on my way quickly.
Excellent and understanding doctor
I am typically one who avoids the doctor, but I've really enjoyed seeing Dr. Berent! His office is easily accessible (no finding parking issues, lost in a huge building, don't know what floor, etc). The office is a bit tiny when it comes to square feet, but seems as though everyone works well together. The last time I was in the office, Dr. Berent's nurse was away, and although he seemed a tad flustered, he still maintained his great bedside manner. :)
Careful, thorough, excellent diagnostician, thoughtful, quiet, studious.
Craig Berent is a great doctor and shows a lot of compassion for his patients which is rare to find.
This is long overdue, but I went to see Dr. Berent after an incident took place between my pinky toe and a sharp door edge last year. Dr. Berent was very kind and personable yet straight-to-the-point, which I very much appreciated. He quelled my concerns and I was in and out of the office within 30 minutes. Excellent!
Craig is empathic and caring. He genuinely cares about his patients.
I did not have to wait too long, and Dr. Berent was kind and direct. It was overall a pleasant experience.
I enjoyed my visit, did not like the student training doctor coming in and asking me questions without Dr. Berent in the room.
I had a great experience with Dr. Berent. He and his student assistant were very receptive and helpful. I would definitely recommend.
He was very nice with friendly support staff. I made an appointment to see him even though I'm not sick. It was to establish myself with a Dr. He's older and I'm older so looks like a match.
Dr. Berent is a careful, thoughtful, experienced and talented diagnostician and clinician. I have recommended him to a number of people with 100% positive feedback from those that have seen him.
I just moved to Austin and feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Berent as my new primary doctor.
Great primary care physician. Have been a client for 10+ years.
He was very personable and made me feel comfortable.
I visited Dr. Berent this week and was very pleased with the visit! I recently moved here from Denver and have been looking for a primary care physician. Well I can say without a doubt that I have found him. He made me feel very welcome and was thorough with his questions. His conversation remained lighthearted and I was on my way! Thanks, again.
I really like Dr. Berent! Office staff is nice!
The receptionist seemed a little confused about the details of my visit, citing difficulties with some new system. I was mistakenly told there would be a copay, though when I clarified that I was there for an annual physical (100% covered) it was corrected straight away. The online system for scheduling a visit did have me specify this ahead of time. After I filled out some first-timer forms, the rest of the process took < 30 minutes. Dr Berent is professional and friendly. I look forward to continuing to use this office and Dr Berent in the future.
I have seen Dr. Berent for more than 15 years, and he has always impressed me. He's kind, understanding, and knowledgable. He never seems rushed and is always ready to listen and explain thoroughly. He makes you feel like an actual person, rather than simply another case. I can't imagine going anywhere else.
This was not my first visit with Dr. Berent and each time he has had a pleasant demeanor and sincerely cares about his patients. I've always felt comfortable discussing any physical problems I've had.
A smart, insightful and caring medical professional.
Very friendly staff and helpful doctor. Can be a bit hard to find, so call ahead if it's your first visit.
Fast appointment and very helpful diagnosis. Great care.
The appointment was handled extremely well by everyone involved and the service was great.
I was in a bind after just moving here and he was able to maintain certain medications until I could get in with some specialists. I appreciated his kind and trusting manner and will continue to use him as my primary care physician.
The experience was wonderful. Everyone there is so nice and conversational. Dr.Berent is thorough and patient. So happy I can call him my new doctor!
He was confident, and cared about my issue, he wanted me to call him later to see how I turned out. He's a genuine and nice man.
The doctor was fine, but the lady at the reception desk was short and kind of rude. I actually needed to schedule a follow-up appointment, but decided to start all over with another doctor because I didn't want to deal with her.
He was very nice and knowledgeable.
He is fantastic. Really great at interacting with patients, and just a really smart Doctor. He put me at ease after several weeks of worry. Really, really great.
Dr. Berent is professional, competent, and efficient. His office is tiny; I've rarely had to wait more than 15 minutes for my appointment, probably because there's only room for a couple of patients to be in the office at one time!
I'm so very happy with Dr.Berent!!!! Finally, I have a doctor that listened to my concerns.
Dr. Berent is always nice and patient with me. He listens carefully all my health concerns and treats them accordingly. He is an experienced doctor and I trust his decision very much. I would highly recommend him to others.
Very kind and thoughtful throughout the visit. Was not in a hurry and was very thorough.
Dr. Berent has a nice office and is very personable. I noticed he was elected Super Doctor multiple times meaning he's been endorsed by his peers. From that I could tell I was in good hands. I used to not like going to the doctor because they'd tell me something was wrong with me. Fortunately I'm healthy and Dr. Berent's assessment was well worth the visit.
Direct, honest, helpful and "REAL"...Never a long wait and answered all my questions.
They are always happy to see everyone! They are always happy to talk with everyone and can brighten your day.
Small office - I felt like a person and not a number. I can see why the Dr has won "best Dr" awards too. He has a great bedside manner and made me feel like I mattered.
Dr. Berent was great! He was very kind and easy to talk to. The office is really small and not very professional looking but overall I would recommend.
Great doctor! Great Staff! Asked a lot of questions I had not been asked before. No doubt he will be my new doctor.
Well my mom really liked him and that's a plus. Very pleasant and great bed side manners, we will recommend him for sure. Thanks so much. Tina, Betty Jo"s daughter.
Great experience with Dr. Berent! He was able to figure out my sickness after two urgent care doctor's were not able to.
Doctor was awesome, office staff was less than easy to work with. They also waited until months later (an hour before my follow up appointment) to call and say that they don't take my insurance, which I had called and ahead to confirmed they do, and I actually owe them money from they last visit. Now I need my prescription filled and need to find a new doctor today.
Unfortunately, this great doctor has a terribly unprofessional office and support staff. The office is tiny, with thin walls and large gaps under the doors. From my exam room, I could hear the receptionist's telephone and in-person conversations. So, if I had arrived with very personal health concerns, I would not have felt comfortable discussing said concerns. Also, if you're booking an appointment on ZocDoc, you may expect that the office staff is at least mildly tech savvy. Wrong. When I arrived for my appointment, I stood waiting (without a greeting) in the reception area (a narrow hallway with a desk and a few chairs) for nearly 15 minutes while the receptionist figured out how to process a patient's credit card payment. The above concerns probably wouldn't have stopped me from referring people to Dr. Berent, but when you combine those concerns with my post-appointment experience, I can only suggest you find a different physician. Two days after my appointment, I received a voicemail, letting me know that the office received my lab results. I called the office shortly after receiving the voicemail and was put on hold for more than 5 minutes, only to be told that no one could speak with me. I left my name and telephone number and heard nothing for 3+ hours. I called back and spoke with the receptionist, who less-than-politely told me I should not expect to be called back immediately. The end of the business day came and went without a phone call.
Best doctor I've ever had. Incredibly personal and thorough. Highly recommended
The staff are extremely warm and helpful. They also do not delay when they are assisting you with referrals to a specialist!
The doctor was very professional and thorough. He was pleasant and engaging. I had a very good experience and will see him again.
Fast and effective.
This was my first visit and I was greeted by the receptionist in a welcoming manner that helped put me at ease. The doctor promptly saw me at the exact appointment time and asked me questions pertaining to my health background. Since this was a consultation visit I made an appointment for a physical in 3 weeks.
Very good. The doctor asked questions and would listen to what I had to say.
Dr. Berent was professional and courteous. My first impression was positive enough that I will continue to see him and designate him as my primary care physician.
It was great. I am very pleased will Doctor Berent
It was a pretty standard visit after I had dizziness and fainted, and he didn't technically miss out on checking anything but as I am looking for the right chemistry and care btw myself and my future primary care dr (I had a traumatic injury to my skull 4 yrs ago), I don't believe he's the one.
Excellent rapport, easy to understand, inspires confidence, overall a great experience
I liked Dr. Berent. I will be going back to him and will keep him has my doctor. He is very detailed and is straight to the point but does not rush at all. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Berent listens. He is thorough and caring. His office staff is friendly and professional.
Very helpful and kind, he is confident and I'm likely to go back.
I felt comfortable with the doctor and would refer others.
I was impressed with Dr. Berent. He gave me information about one of the meds that I am taking that I had never heard before.
Dr. Berent truly deserves his 5 stars. As my primary care physician, he truly satisfies the role with his wide breadth of multidisciplinary knowledge. As a patient, I was a diagnostic debacle, and he handled my situation beautifully. He also seems to have a diverse and well-developed network of top-notch referrals should you require specialist care. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone seeking a primary care physician they can stick with and work with. I would also like to recognize his nurse, Lisa, and all of his office staff I have encountered, whose professional and welcoming demeanor and great service are quite appreciated.
Excellent visit. Professional and friendly team.
A very good doctor
Dr. Berent was very thorough, and I didn't feel rushed at all. He made me very comfortable and made sure I understood the medications he was prescribing and how to take them before I left. I will definitely be coming back. The office itself is tucked back on Burnet and is a bit hard to find. Parking is a problem--there are very few slots in a tiny lot. You can park on the street but may have to circle the block a few times.
Wonderful visit overall. The doctor and staff were all very sweet and professional. Could not have been happier with the entire experience!
Dr. Berent was very polite, friendly and professional. I look forward to seeing him again.
Good manner and seemed very thorough.
He was great! Thorough and efficient. He asked lots of follow-up questions and addressed all my concerns. I would definitely recommend!
Great doctor, always have a pleasant time in his office. Its very refreshing to not have to talk between a glass wall just to check in.
Very professional and efficient.
It was fine.
Very professional and very attentive. Dr. Berents is wonderful example that doctors can still provide individualized and personalized care. Highly recommended.
Dr Berent is simply the best. Super knowledgable and right to the point. Quick and easy, in amd out amd all problems solved.
He is a fine Doctor who truly cares. Craig is efficient and thorough.
Very professional, courteous. Nothing bad to say, or even remotely bad. Office staff was the same.
I Had High HoPes, But The Experience Was Not Impressive. Will Need To Try Someone Else.
It was a very good visit.
Today was my first appointment with Doctor Berent, but I plan on going back. I went in for an annual physical and felt comfortable throughout the entire process. He was conversational with me, and seemed engaged. Two things that really stood out: 1) He was to the point, though did not seem to be in a rush. 2) He was very thorough, and seemed genuinely invested in getting to know the status of my health and health history. As mentioned, this was only my first visit, so I'm limited to my first impression. But it was a good one.
I liked the private office. That is something you don't see much anymore these days. Jessica was professional and the Doctor went straight to my problem and got me in for PT. Jerry
Great experience, very professional, staff was very courteous
Has his own personal practice, which I like. He seemed very friendly and concerned about my health. This was my first time seeing him and I am making him my primary care Physician.
Very nice, thorough, and on time.
Been going to him for years. He's a great doctor.
