It's hard to know much from 1 visit, but I know I liked Dr. Hjorth enough to schedule a 2nd visit, and that's not a "given" with me. Dr. Hjorth was patient and compassionate - alleviating my 2 main fears of seeking help for a mental health issue: 1. that I would suddenly be diagnosed and labeled, put into a medical box and given a bunch of medication, and 2. the opposite - that he'd say my problems were too normal for him to treat, that he had more critical patients. The doctor took my problems seriously without giving me cause for alarm, and made me feel comfortable being open. I'd definitely recommend at least giving him a try.

Dr. Craig Hjorth is a psychologist treating patients in Bloomingdale, Illinois, and the surrounding communities. His approach to treatment is the product of his extensive experience as a senior-level clinician and as an expert witness, centered on using the most effective and up-to-date tests and treatments to help his patients find the right path.
In order to pursue his doctoral degree, Dr. Hjorth attended the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He has received advanced training in ADHD, anger management, crisis intervention, and treatment for victims of post-traumatic stress disorder and trauma. Dr. Hjorth is a licensed clinical psychologist and a diplomat of the American Board of Psychological Specialties in Forensic Psychology.

Terrible! This man has probably been at this for way too long and it's time for him to retire. He zones out most of the time and doesn't seem to really care. He does care about your business transaction though! He never claimed my visit through my insurance and just kept everything. I've been trying to get in touch with him for the last month and he simply ignores me. He says "his assistant" will take of it...
