I'm passionate about helping people build fulfilling, meaningful lives. I believe that everyone deserves hope, dignity, and the opportunity to reach their personal goals, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they navigate life's challenges. I earned my Master of Social Work from Governors State University and have worked in the human services field since the early 1990s. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including inpatient mental health, military substance use treatment, child welfare, intellectual and developmental disability services, and community-based mental health. These experiences have given me the opportunity to support children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of concerns. My areas of experience include trauma, grief and loss, foster and adoptive care, gender identity, postpartum depression, ADHD, and the effects of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. I take a person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach to therapy because I believe each individual already possesses strengths that can be built upon to create meaningful change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When we work together, my first priority is building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where you feel heard, respected, and understood. Together, we'll explore your experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, and identify practical steps to help you move toward the life you want.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You will first need to complete an initial phone assessment with our care coordinators. This will take 15-20 minutes just to make sure we are a good fit and if not, we will match you with another therapist at the practice. We also need to ensure all paperwork and insurance benefits are aligned before beginning. Please note, your appointment is not confirmed until these steps are completed. I look forward to potentially helping you work toward your goals.
