He has 24 years of clinical experience, which includes general adult psychiatry as well as treating the severely mentally ill. He is an extremely well-respected instructor and has taught residents at Albert Einstein, St. Vincent’s, and Lenox Hill Hospitals.
Dr. McCarthy has 12 years of experience conducting clinical trials in a diverse range of indications. At Fieve Clinical Research, Dr. McCarthy offers expertise in the following therapeutic specialties: ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain, depression/dysthymia, diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia, gout, lower back pain, migraine headaches, mild cognitive impairment, OCD, obesity, osteoarthritis, panic disorder, post herpetic neuralgia, PTSD, restless leg syndrome, seasonal affective disorder, social anxiety disorder, treatment resistant depression, and vaccine.
An easy-going and approachable physician, Dr. McCarthy is very dedicated and highly attentive to his patients, giving eligible participants comprehensive evaluations (at no cost) with special attention paid to their safety and well-being. He remains in constant contact with participants, providing ongoing monitoring and evaluation of their condition for the length of the study.
