I have been going to Dr. Klaahsen for years and I always feel well taken care of. She strives to make things better for the patient and makes suggestions for diet and lifestyle changes that are very helpful and outside the routine eye exam I would receive from other places.

I will suggest that if you know in advance that we're going to have our eyes dilated we should be told. It was a long and wild walk home in the sun!

Dr. Crystal Klaahsen is originally from Minnesota, where she graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and a minor in German. In 2002, Dr. Klaahsen moved to Massachusetts to continue her education at the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Her education at the New England College of Optometry was very well rounded and gave Dr. Klaahsen excellent opportunities. One such opportunity was a project she headed which investigated the occurrence of contact lens sharing among teenagers. Dr. Klaahsen was able to present this work, as a second year optometry student, at the 2003 American Academy of Optometrist's annual meeting. She also received the Acuvue Eye Health Advisor Citizenship Award for her work on the project.
Before graduating, Dr. Klaahsen was able to study under some wonderful doctors at different clinics and hospitals around Boston. She worked at the Cotting School, Hanscom Air Force Base, VA Hospital in Bedford, Boston Medical Center and South Boston Community Health Center to name a few. Her varied clinical rotations have helped her become the great eye doctor that she is today.
In June 2006, Dr. Klaahsen received her Doctorate of Optometry. After graduation, Dr. Klaahsen joined a private practice in Burlington, MA, where she has perfected her examination skills. She has also given several eye health talks to the elderly. Dr. Klaahsen feels that it is very important to educate people on their eye health and the simple things they can do to preserve their vision.
