Dr. Krause is a fabulous doctor- smart, thorough, proactive in her thinking- all with a wonderful, caring manner. She knows her patients and seems honestly interested in them Unlike many doctors, she really listens to her patients (which I know from my own experience as well as that as family and friends).

Having practiced gynecology in New York City for 20+ years, Dr. Cynthia Krause is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she was a Benjamin Franklin scholar and majored in Comparative Literature. Four years later, she earned her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Krause began her medical career in primary care internal medicine at Baltimore City Hospital, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins, but quickly realized that her true interest lay in women’s health. After completing 2 years of her residency, she moved to New York and completed a four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital. She spent 9 years in private practice before returning to Mount Sinai full-time to serve for six years as the Director of Gynecology at Mount Sinai’s Women’s Health Program. While there, she was the principal investigator on several research studies focused on osteoporosis and breast cancer. In 2002, she returned to private practice, opening her current office on New York’s Upper East Side. Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Krause completes a board re-certification each year, and is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition, she is a longstanding member of several more focused professional organizations within the field of gynecology including the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. Dr. Krause became a Certified Menopause Practitioner in 2011 after passing the exam given by NAMS. Dr. Krause is active at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine where she has served on the admissions committee for 6 years. She teaches medical students and serves as a preceptor at the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership, a student run free clinic. Dr. Krause also served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Attending Staff at the Mount Sinai Hospital for 5 years. She is a regular contributor to a column in All You magazine, and for 5 consecutive years has been named among the “Best Doctors of the Year” by Castle Connelly.
