Dr. Dakesesh Patel listens intentionally to your symptoms, what you've tried to make your medical situation better, discusses the treatment plan, asks how well you've been able to maintain that plan, examines you, adjusts the treatment plan together with me, and, asks again if I have any questions. He is thorough, intentional, wants to alleviate problems as a team, and his manner is kind and caring. He always looks directly at me when he's speaking, treating me with equal respect. He's a great role model for patient centered, lazer focused care. I really appreciate his medical skills, knowledge and bedside manner.

Dr. Patel is courteous, efficient, and compassionate. He reviewed my chart with me, and looked directly at me while he was speaking. He listened to my concerns, thinking them through and providing suggestions I had not considered. Also, in reviewing my medications of other providers, he pinpointed that one medication in particular, could be exasperating a GI problem, and encouraged me to follow up with that prescribing physician, which I will. His physical exam was thorough. My husband was encouraged to provide information, which he did. A plan of care was created together that we agreed on, & I felt back on track with a knowledgeable, caring physician at my side.

Dr. Patel performed his undergraduate training at Pennsylvania State University. He obtained his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center. His Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship was completed at St. John Providence Health System. Dr. Patel pursued additional training during an Advanced Therapeutics fellowship at Rush University Medical Center Chicago. His training gives him expertise in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and treatment of Barrett's esophagus.
Dr. Patel is board certified in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterology Association (AGA) and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
Dr. Patel has been involved in clinical research throughout his training, leading to both publications and presentations at several national meetings.
Dr. Patel's clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic and biliary disorders, gastrointestinal cancers, and Barrett's esophagus.

The only problem arised when i was waiting for approval my insurance from a procedure. The doctor left the practice and did notify patients. He literally up and left. He was great when i saw him however i feel as a professional courtesy he could notify patients. Also because now I'm in the situation where i need to find a new provider to do my procedures. This just is making things take longer. I felt they could have transitioned his patients to another partner.

I felt very uplifted and positive after my visit, knowing that my health will soon improve. DR. Patel was very kind and helpful. The staff were great and pleasant. I have had many doctor appointments in the past and this one is without a doubt very disappointing. When, the doctor came he was an hour late due to a surgery that was perform earlier which does happen once in a while. I am a proactive patient so I asked him questions that I feel would help understand my condition better. His response to my questions was "have you been reading in the internet". I also asked him respectfully if I could get a procedure done to see whether we can get a further diagnosis. His response to that question was "sure do you have this ____much to spend?" Would not write all this if the doctor acted in a professional manner.
