Hi there, I'm Dana!
I am Dana Monday, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I work with adults with a wide range of psychiatric concerns. Some areas where my experience and expertise shine brightest are in the peripartum period and with integrative and functional approaches to mental health.
My approach
My approach is highly collaborative and focuses on you as a whole person. I believe that you are the expert on your life, and my role is to provide tools and space to help you make it the life you want. I use ACT, mindfulness-based psychotherapy, and motivational interviewing as the theoretical foundation for my work.
My focus
I treat patients with a wide range of psychiatric concerns. I am most comfortable with concerns around depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, mood disturbance during pregnancy and postpartum period, and chronic pain and trauma.
My communication style
My first goal is always for my client to feel heard and understood. I listen deeply to understand your experience and the issues where I can be of service. I offer suggestions and recommendations, but developing a plan of care is always highly collaborative.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey has been a long and winding road to becoming an integrative psychiatric nurse practitioner. From my schooling as a massage therapist to my own mental health challenges and those of the people I love to my decade as an integrative nurse providing holistic care to patients hospitalized with serious medical conditions, my journey has always focused on easing suffering. My calling, my ministry in this world is to offer some comfort to those around me, even if it is only to know that they are not alone.
My goals for you
Again, collaboration is key in this process. The client has their area of expertise- their body, mind, and lived experience and I have mine- being an integrative psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
