Verified Patient Reviews
The doctor was helpful. The staff is only pleasant if you are a long term patient.
Very professional and very experienced, my mom had a broken wrist and she felt immediate relief after he reset it. She was in a lot of pain and afterwards, felt a huge relief. Office is run very well and very professional. Highly recommended for serious and tricky cases.
Dr. Wilen is very assured of himself so he can come off as arrogant but understand he's that good.
He’s a great doc. Very competent and knows what he’s doing. Office is run very well, wait time is minimal. Highly recommend.
Very happy. Thorough and very professional
It was obvious I was the last patient of the day. Dr Wilen could care less about what I was saying. Was incredibly negligent & gave me a sample of medicine without telling me what it's for or it's side effects. Absolutely will not be coming back or recommending him to anyone.
Dr. Wilen was a professional and learned doctor. He listened and asked the appropriate questions to assess my pain. His staff were professional and organized. I was able to get an MRI the same day and he knew what my insurance coverage allowed. My wait time was due to me filling out two forms as a new patient, but I would've been seen immediately had I been an established patient. I highly recommend Dr. Wilen for all orthopedic needs.
Was seen quickly, sent me down stairs for X-ray, went back to office upstairs and Dr seen me right away and explained to me the results of X-ray. Was in and out all within 1 hr
It was a great experience. The medical office is clean and well organized. The staff was very friendly and attentive as well as Dr. Wilen. Parking was a challenge but overall great experience.
I told him I had issues with my right hand with using the mouse and I felt severe pain, he said it wasn't carpal tunnel because the pain didn't hit my fingers (now it does) and so he wanted to give my pills. If the pills worked, he wanted me to come back and make an another appt. so he can give me a prescription. It was a waste of time, I don't want to rely on pills to take away pain, and I think it was unfair to make me come back waste another co-pay just for a prescription.
The staff and Doctor were very professional and they took the time to ensure that I received the proper care. I would highly recommend Dr. Wilen for there Orthopedic needs.
Busy office but is run like a well oiled machine.
My visit was awesome. All the staff there is welcoming and friendly. Doctor Wilen was concerned about my health with him and my past with my condition. Very knowledgeable. My follow up appt was just as good as my first visit. Definitely would recommend! My elbow feels great!
I didn't have to wait for anything. I was seen right away. I needed x-ray and an injection and I was escorted from one room to the next and was tended to immediately. I was there for 45 minutes total! Very pleasant and professional experience!
He was very professional and very friendly . I would recommend him to anyone . The office staff couldn't be any nicer , Thank you Zocdoc
He's very thorough!
Love Dr. Wilen I was a patient of his years ago and lost him do to insurance change. Finally got him back and couldn't be happier. He's very knowledgable and has an awesome bedside manner with his patients. His office is bigger than the last one and his staff are all very nice and friendly. I have definitely referred others to him and will continue to do so.
Horrible and will never be back. 1. The Friday before my Monday appointment I get a call that since I'm a new patient my appointment needs to be moved up to 430pm instead of the 545pm slot I took from zocdoc. I said no I have to work. Earliest I can get there is 530 and not for nothing, you should work it out with zocdoc so this doesn't happen to other patients. 2. Cash only. It is 2016 and absurd for a doctors office to take cash only and they won't even bill you! They force you to go to an atm get cash, and come back with it and on top of that the receptionist said I remember telling you this over the phone. Sorry sweetheart but you didn't! 3. Go back and an employee takes down my medical history. I tell him what's going on with me and the dr walks in asks me what's wrong and says oh you need an MRI and EMG. Doesn't even touch me!!! No exam, no nothing. I cannot accept this kind of behavior. It is unacceptable for a dr to accept my copay and not even examine me. I will never be back and will also be calling my insurance company to report him.
I really liked him he was charismatic and friendly. His office was clean and ran efficiently. His staff were all very nice and accommodating. They listened to my issues and provided educated answers. Will definitely be returning and will also bring my daughter and grand daughter here.
Just don't.. Dr Wilen and his staff are so beyond incompetent and wasted a month of mine and my partner's time. Examinations were done, referrals were given and they weren't even offered to the radiologist office we went to. A month of calling and trying to set up an MRI and nobody EVER helped us, and now we have to go to a different orthopedic to start over. THANKS GUYS!
Very professional team working with Dr. Wilen. The waiting time was not that bad and the doctor doctor was very thorough with his answers.
My visit or my entire experience with the Wilen office and brief chat with Dr. Wilen was frustrating and eye opening. I trusted Zocdoc and they let me down. I have two major issues. My first one has to do with ZocDoc. ZocDoc's system is fine and needed in the market place. The problem is that people in the medical offices and especially Dr. Wilen's office are mostly non educated office staff that don't know how to use ZocDoc's system. They did not even know I used Zocdoc. I entered my health insurance info and provided all the numbers needed. Only for the office staff to make human errors with paper work and waste hours of my time. My grip with zocdoc is why are you allowing these types of offices use your system? I have to wonder if all of the medical offices in my area are like this and I am just wasting my time using Zocdoc. I would recommend to zocdoc not to let Dr. Wilen use your system. Is zocdoc checking in on the offices after they sign up a client? In this case no way! My grip and frustration with the Wilen team is beyond getting work up with...The staff's first language is not English and their attitude does not belong in the medical field. If you are not from NY or not from the area don't waste your time using this office. You will only waste your time...In today's heavily insured medical field the office staff is as important as the Medical staff. I would have to question how Dr. Wilen allows an incompetent staff represent himself--and if he allows incompetence on his staff is he an incompetent Dr? As I write this and do my own research i noticed that Yelp as 28 votes and 2.5 stars. Silly me for not doing my own research.
Everyone was professional in the office. However the inside wait room was overcrowded and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason for who was seen.
I was thoroughly impressed with my experience at Dr. Wilen's office. He has an abundance of knowledge in the field of orthopedics and he displayed commitment to ensure that I get better. His staff is caring, compassionate, and efficient. Together, they are a well oiled machine!
good doctor, friendly staff . Very nice office. Very happy that I found dr/wilen. Thank u Zocdoc
- Office and support staff professional and personable - Dr seems like nice person but my problem wasn't solved; I'm certainly hopeful that there might be more treatment options with next visit. - Parking is terrible in this part of Brooklyn and it took me 45 minutes to find a spot which was 2 blocks away and difficult because of my injury - They don't take checks, only cash or charge
Dr. Wilen is very professional and his demeanor makes you feel comfortable right away. Visit seemed a little rushed, but that is probably my fault since I did not ask any questions. I would recommend Dr. Wilen to anyone, already have my follow up appointment booked.
He is a true professional, he explained my situation well.
It was very quick because I need further testing but I chose him because he is the same doctor I took my mom to when she broke her elbow. I would recommend him time after time.
Very professional and thorough
MY VISITS ARE WONDERFUL. DR. WILEN IS VERY THOROUGH. AFTER OUR INITIAL VISIT, HE SCHEDULED MY DAUGHTERS SURGERY IMMEDIATELY. HE PERFORMED MY 15 YR OLD DAUGHTER'S KNEE SURGERY AND HE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. HIS STAFF ARE ALWAYS VERY POLITE AND RESPOND QUICKLY TO ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS WE HAVE.
I was there for my shoulder and he took care of my wrist so I could cancel my next visit.
Dr. Wilen is the best. Hope he never retires. Professionalism and bedside manner is always on point. Staff is great. Would highly recommend him.
They made me refill-out the form that I printed out from ZocDoc. The forms were the same with one more page for my pharmacy.
The experience was great...
I was very happy with the dr and staff .
I was seen by Dr Wilen himself and the experience was way better than my last visit. He was straight to the point, explicit and answered my questions and made me feel comfortable.
Very through for initial visit!
Great Doctor. He was very attentive.
Very comfortable and professional...
nice clean reception...very extremely friendly staff
Great professional service.
Didn' t feel like I got the attention regarding the visit really resolved, I paid to see him for him to send me elsewhere. He's an accredited Orthopedist no doubt and very nice but not as helpful as I had hoped. Now I know his limits of treating and would recommend him according to the persons issue
Doctor is in and out of each exam room in under 3 minutes - also does not close the doors to exam rooms. People in waiting area can hear/see everything going on in the 3 exam rooms. Doc did not help; not going back and will not recommend.
It's a repeat
Thank you Dr Wilen for the first visit it was a good experience
I have been at his offices for over 14 yrs. he is excellent all the time. V. Jaime brooklyn,ny
I thought he was very professional and very friendly. He took the time to explain to me the problem I was having. I walked out of there with a good feeling. I would highly recommend this doctor. Also the staff was very friendly and professional.
Visit was ok. Got to the office filled out the paper work and after that sat in the waiting area for about 15 to 20 minutes when my name was called by Dr. Wilen. One of the things I didn't like was that after calling my name I thought he would take me into a room to ask me all the doctors questions but instead we stood right there outside of the room door as he asked me why I was there to see him. It was impersonal. He wrote my issues down and then pointed me to the x-ray room where a tech did the x-rays and then finally put me in the last room to wait for the doctor. I sat there for about 15 min. as I heard the Dr. go in and out of other rooms to speak to patients that were after me. I just kept thinking "ok maybe he'll be in to see me next." Until I realized he didn't even know I was in that room. And if I didn't make my presence known I'd be standing there forever. So there was an empty chair right outside the room I was in so I finally got a clue and went to sit there so as the Dr. would pass by he would see me and realize I was waiting. It worked because about a minute later as he was coming out of one of the rooms he glanced my way and came up to me asking if I already did my x-rays. I responded "yes. 20 minutes ago". He apologized and walked me into the room and proceeded to tell me about my results. Other then the 20 min. overlook the visit was ok.
It was a very fast process. Had Xrays performed on site. Its a busy office, but they move patients quickly.
