Dr. Williams always knew that there was a place for her in medicine. After graduating from Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelors of Science, she went on to pursue her Masters of Public Health from Tulane University with a focus on International Health and Development. By traveling to places such as Guatemala and Peru during her time in graduate school and working with programs such as Foundation for Sustainable Development, Dr. Williams became even more motivated to pursue her medical degree.
After completing her Master’s degree, she did in fact go to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. From there she went on to East Tennessee State to participate in a surgical residency; however, decided to leave surgery after three years in order to pursue primary care medicine. She states that primary care is where her heart lies and she loves educating her patients about preventive and holistic health approaches to their health. Dr. Williams has a special focus on health and wellness for the entire family, but she is particularly dedicated to women’s health and education.
After she came to St. Louis in 2014, Dr. Williams opened her own practice, Delmar Primary Care Associates, where she is a solo practitioner. She is proud to serve in an underserved area where she feels she provides excellent medical care in a compassionate manner to people who otherwise might have to be seen at a community clinic. Dr. Williams’s practice motto is “ We’re committed to your Health.” She believes this motto should be reflected in every aspect of education and care provided to her patients.
Her accomplishments include hosting a health and wellness show on two different local radio stations, sponsoring events that focus on wellness in the community, including a comedy showcase, “Laughter is Good Medicine.” During the comedy showcases and building partnerships with the organizations Better Family Life and Tee Masters golf as their featured health speaker.
