More about Dr. Danny McClure, DO

I am licensed and board certified in psychiatry and neurology. After earning my medical degree at A. T. Still University in 2013, I then completed my residency at Maricopa Integrated Health System, specializing in psychiatry. I believe my role and obligation to each one of my patients is straight forward. First, I need to ensure I am making accurate diagnoses and providing education regarding what these diagnoses mean for each patient. Second, I need to help patients understand the various treatment options for each diagnosis and the advantages, disadvantages, benefits, and risks of each treatment option. Thirdly, I believe I should make treatment recommendations based on approved treatment protocols as set forth by my governing body, the American Psychiatric Association. Fourthly, which is probably the most important, my obligation to each patient is to work collaboratively with each patient, considering their treatment history, experiences, values, and wishes, to create a treatment plan that addresses my patients’ primary concerns. Fifthly, patients and I monitor their progress and treatment responses, collaboratively, making adjustments to the treatment plan, as needed. Finally, I aspire to control my patients’ symptoms aiding a high level of functioning for a sufficient amount of time to allow us to consider slowly removing medications. I am passionate about my practice of medicine because I feel the highest level of fulfillment from seeing my patients’ lives improve and knowing that I had, in some small way, a positive impact in the life of my patient and the countless other lives that each one of my patients influence.
