Dr. Dara L. Havemann grew up in rural Missouri. She was accepted into the University of Missouri, Kansas City’s prestigious accelerated medical program directly out of high school and completed both her undergraduate and medical school degrees in six years. Dr. Havemann moved to Texas for her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas – Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. After residency she continued her training at UTMB to complete a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. While completing her fellowship Dr. Havemann also simultaneously earned her Masters of Medical Science degree. Throughout her residency and fellowship training Dr. Havemann was recognized for her exceptional laparoscopic surgical skills, receiving the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists Award, and was also recognized for her proficiency in laparoscopic skills at the American Society of Reproductive Medicine laparoscopic course for fellows. Other honors received by Dr. Havemann during her training include recognition as the Best All-around Resident Award, Outstanding Medical Student Teaching Awards, and second place at the Texas Association of Obstetrics and Gynecologists resident research day for her research on ovarian aging. UTMB also recognized Dr. Havemann as a most dedicated faculty for her teaching and volunteer services at the local free health clinic. Dr. Havemann has published and presented many papers at national conventions on the topic of embryo implantation. She is a current member of the American Association of Reproductive Medicine and the Society of Reproductive Endocrinology.
