He graduated from Medical School and completed his Internship and Orthopedic Residency at State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. He spent a year in subspecialty training as a Fellow in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital/Medical College of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Auerbach is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is a Qualified Medical Examiner (Q.M.E.) for the State of California Industrial Medical Council Department of Industrial Relations. Dr. Auerbach has been involved in both basic science and clinical research, giving presentations at national and international meetings on hand and upper extremity anatomy, surgical reconstruction and skin grafting. Dr. Auerbach is a consultant for an orthopedic technology company and is an inventor of surgical instruments with United States patents pending. He has authored textbook chapters on the fixation of hand fractures, endoscopic carpal tunnel release, and upper extremity arthroscopy. Dr. Auerbach, his wife Lisa, and his daughters have traveled extensively around the world. They enjoy outdoor sports, music and theater. David M.
