Dr. Haight has served for six years on the Medical Advisory Board of the New York Eye Bank for Sight Restoration holding the position of Secretary of the Board. He has published articles on refractive surgery, taught courses locally and nationally and made over 100 presentations at meetings. He appears in New York Magazines best doctors list and has been featured on the CBS and NBC morning television programs. As a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmolgy Skills Transfer Committee, he has overseen the development of all the refractive surgery laboratory courses offered at its annual meeting. He is the recipient of the American Academy's Honor Award in recognition of his contribution academic programs. In 1991, he became the Chief Coordinator for the Excimer Laser Study at the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. In that capacity, he performed pioneering research that helped lead to FDA approval of the excimer. Dr. Haight continues to be involved in the development of this and related technologies.
