Dr. Nemoto takes special pride in his work as a Board Certified gastroenterologist. A native of Buffalo, New York, Dr. Nemoto has been in private practice in Houston since 1997.
Dr. Nemoto performed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Nemoto also performed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. In 1986, Dr. Nemoto obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree with Departmental Honors from Tulane University in New Orleans.
An active sportsman, he enjoys snow skiing, marathon running, scuba diving, cycling and fishing when not providing medical care.
In addition to English, Dr. Nemoto can speak Spanish.

I know that Dr. Nemoto is a very good and knowledgeable doctor but like I mentioned to him earlier on during the consultation, the staff in the Katy office had me make an empty trip from work, (68miles)lost a whole day's pay and still did not get a call the next day or two to reschedule another appointment. They did not have my medical records from Dr. Wheeler ready. The nurse should have told me to call Dr. Wheeler myself to have his nurse dax it to them. From prior experiences the visiting doctor gets the information he/she needs from other doctors. Isn't that the reason why we fill out a release of medical records?

Dr. Nemoto is very personable which helps when you are discussing the types of things that a doctor in his profession normally examines. He's a very likeable guy and I felt at ease pretty quickly. Not looking forward to the procedure but I feel I am in good hands.

I have been with Dr. Nemoto since he first started his practice with Memorial Clinical Assoc. He is a wonderful doctor and person - he treats me like a friend ( he always looks at my pictures of my triplet granddaughters) and tells me about his family. He has done several colonoscopies on me, and I have felt safe in his hands - he is competent and caring. I highly recommend him.

I was impressed with his personality and his understanding of what I was saying. I love Lori, his nurse. Although I had forgotten some things they double checked on info and got it out of me anyway. I feel he cares and listens to me . Means a lot to me. A LOT of drs don't or won't listen. Have fired a few because of just that reason.

This is the third time I had seen Dr. Nemoto in the last 6 weeks, not including the endoscopy he performed two weeks ago.
Today, when I went in to discuss the results, he essentially blew me off. He said something along the lines of, "Every week I diagnose patients with cancer. I feel less sorry--WAY less sorry--for you than I do for them." He proceeded to tell me a variety of condescending things like keep a food diary and essentially "eat better."
He was such a jerk. Basically, his attitude was "I don't have time for you and you are an inferior patient compared to the others I have."
I most certainly would not recommend him.

I have seen Dr. Nemoto before and I respect his clinical skills and his obvious sense of caring for his patients. He is a first rate physician who is also interested in prevention as evidenced by his involvement in a wellness center which is located one floor below his office. I also like his nurse Lori who was professional and personable at the same time. However, It was a chaotic process in getting an appointment with him due to the ineptness and indifference of the two office staff I dealt with. Had it been anyone other than Dr. Nemoto, I would have made an appointment with another gastroenterologist and would not have dealt with the confusion and multiple phone calls that it took to schedule the appointment and to update my records. I also left a phone message on the office vm system at one time and that call was never returned. I was also assured, after making 4 different phone calls to his office, that an "update" for me to complete would be emailed to me. That never came through even though I had provided his office staff with my two separate email addresses. I completed the update to my medical records in his office prior to seeing him today. Many times the physician is busy treating patients and does not realize the impression that the front office staff makes on patients/potential patients. My recommendation for these administrative staff would be rigorous retraining, close supervision and monitoring in the areas of technical skills as well as in patient relations.

He spent a lot of time listening to the list of all my synptoms and since this was a second opinion, he really thought outside the box and put forth other ideas and suggested different diagnosis and ordered other tests.
