Tunde Adeyefa, M.D. is board-certified in gastroenterology and hepatology. He received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, followed by residency training in internal medicine at Duke University Hospital, and fellowship training in gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at the University of Texas at Houston Health & Science Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Adeyefa believes quality care should always incorporate patient education, as it is important that his patients understand the process of testing, diagnosing, and the treatment options involved with their particular condition. He thrives on fostering patient-centered care focused on good communication so that together, a shared decision can be reached. This collaboration encourages productive patient involvement and better outcomes. While he enjoys all aspects of gastroenterology, his interests are in colon cancer screening, Barrett’s esophagus, GERD, gallbladder and pancreatic disease, digestive problems (such as diarrhea and constipation), IBS, inflammatory bowel disease and liver diseases.
Dr. Adeyefa is dedicated to perfecting his craft through various educational resources in order to provide both his staff and patients with the most up-to-date information. As a lifelong learner, he has been actively involved in clinical research, published in various peer-reviewed journals, as well as a co-authored book chapter.
When not in the office, Dr. Adeyefa enjoys spending time with his wife and running after their four young children. He also enjoys watching Barcelona Football Club games, fellowshipping at his local church, and catching the latest movie in town.
