Since I moved to Chicago several years ago, I've gone to national eyeglass chains to see an optometrist. I always felt rushed, like a part on a factory line. The shop doctors tend to be impatient as well. I went to Dr. Nierman because he was on my new vision insurance plan and close to home. My experience with him reminded me of working with my small town family optometrist back home. He was pleasant, forthright, and didn't treat me like an idiot for asking questions. On top of that, the doctor and the office staff all seemed familiar with the clients that came in and out of the store. I think I found a new "family" optometrist!

Effective and no-nonsense exam. He and his staff were very friendly. It was a bit less of a professional environment than Id hopes for but familial and that was a good experience.

My appt was 2:15pm. I waited until 2:30pm When optometrist came out. Next thing I knew this lady came after me who had no appt wanted to ask a question was taken care before me. Then I was left waiting again up to 3pm. Obviously first come first serve has no meaning in this office. Not to mention I had the appt. Will never go back again. Both my husband & I will look for another optometrist.

Although he was running behind, Dr. Neirman was really thorough and incredibly personable. His assistant Mark was also really great and tried to make sure I was seen asap.

Always exceptional!
I have been going to Dr. Nierman for 14 years and continue to have excellent service. He uses the latest, most effective tools, so the health of my eyes are recorded and I can use the images with my medical doctor for analysis and monitoring of other health conditions.
Dr. Nierman knows his stuff and asks the right questions! He takes time to explain information and offer solutions that are catered to your needs and preferences.

Dr. David is great- personable and knowledgeable. His staff was also personable and, more importantly, efficient. I was able to have an exam, get fit for contacts, and pick my glasses out in an hour!

Very personable doctor and staff. Dr Nierman uses new technology to avoid dilation (the Fundus camera) and goes over the photos with you. Very cool.
knowledgable and personable
I woke up with some kind of irritated painful thing going on with my eye. In a bit of a panic, I made an appointment to see Dr. Nierman. I had never been there before and they made the process easy, and didn't even give me a hard time about not having an exam for over a decade. He then throughly checked things out, explained what was going on and I was on my way with a prescription in hand. Needless to say, I'm going to go back and get my long overdue full checkup.
I was impressed with the overall experience!

Dr. Nierman was great. He was strongly recommended to be my a work colleague so I came in for my eye exam with high expectations. Dr. Nierman and his staff delivered. My exam went quickly, and he even took the time to explain the pathology of my eye to me. It was quite fascinating. Brad also helped me to locate some new glasses frames. He was very friendly and honest about which ones looked good and which ones didn't. Overall, I was very happy and impressed with the level of service that was provided to me at the Nierman Vision Center. I will definitely visit them in the future.
Everyone is great; Really helpful and friendly!
very efficient and well organized staff. only had to wait about 10-15 minutes before general check-up. Dr. Nierman very thorough and explained exam benefits. Completely satisfied.
It was great!
