About Dr. Charmi Solanki
Dr. Charmi Solanki was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in 2013.
Dr. Solanki is dedicated to promoting better eye health and vision care for her community in and around Chicago, IL. Her areas of interest include anterior segment conditions, multifocal contact lens fitting, ocular disease, and managing Computer Vision Syndrome. She also co-manages LASIK vision correction with well-known local surgeons.
An active member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association, and the Illinois Optometric Association, Dr. Solanki believes that the eyes are the windows through which we view the beauty of the world. She works hard to educate her patients about eye care and encourages them to improve their ocular health through personalized treatment plans. Outside of her clinical career, she enjoys photography, dancing, reading, organizing events, and exploring the city with her husband and two daughters.
Her favorite part about working at ID Chicago is building strong relationships with her patients, their families, and the neighborhoods they live in. She strives to provide the best experience and care for every patient and is always seeking ways to enhance their health and quality of life.

Everyone here is great! Dr Solanki was kind and seemed very concerned. My only issue is if you need to contact the office. It’s almost impossible to get someone on the phone, or to call back. It’s very frustrating.

I was very pleased with the staff here. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but the experience was a 10 out of 10. They help guide you through which pair of glasses work best for you as well. I highly recommend.

Beautiful office inside retail space. Dr. Charmi was kind and quick without rushing. She was running a bit behind due to another patient emergency but the other office staff was wonderful and helped me select frames while I waited.

Beautiful office in a clearly curated space, plus really fun frames to choose from! Had a little wait, but the storefront boutique had a lot of fun things to look at while waiting. I’m excited to pick up my glasses in a week!

Super cool office! I was confused at first by the home design store in the front half of the office but then realized the back half was the eyewear and doctor’s office. Super cool vibe! Staff was very friendly and the doctor was nice as well! My actual appointment was pretty quick as it was just an easy check up but I didn’t feel rushed at all. Will return for my check up next year.
