About Dr. David Ratliff

Dr. David Ratliff is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty training and certification in hand and upper extremity surgery. He treats patients of all ages for problems of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Dr. Ratliff is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received both his medical degree and orthopaedic surgery residency training from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Ratliff is devoted to training and developing future orthopaedic surgeons. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ratliff is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. He is involved in the teaching and training of the orthopaedic residents at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. Through his teaching, he is able to promote and develop the next generation of surgeons and to stay active in current thought and techniques. Using up-to-date and advanced techniques, Dr. Ratliff cares for various conditions including fractures and trauma, soft tissue, and nerve problems. He performs microsurgery, reconstructive surgery, fracture treatment, arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. Dr. Ratliff believes strongly that every person deserves the time and attention of their physician. Every patient is different, and every problem is different. It’s only through careful consideration and diagnosis that an individualized treatment plan can be made. With Dr. Ratliff, not every problem needs surgery. Surgery will be used as a last resort and only when necessary to help patients achieve their goals. An active runner, Dr. Ratliff understands the needs of sports-minded individuals and their desires to resume activities after injury. He is driven to get his patients back to doing what they love.
