Dr. David Tharakan- Born and raised in Boston, MA. Harvard research grad, Dr. Tharakan had experience as an ENT and then did his masters in Physiology at The esteemed Chicago Medical School in Chicago Illinois. He also did his Medical Degree at Chicago Med with an internship at Cook County Hospital (award winning hospital known for the filming of the T.V. Show " E.R."). He later completed his residency in family practice under the watchful direction of his mentor Dr. Lenard Paul at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Tharakan is known to spending time with his patients, being humble, and "knowing his stuff "when it comes to patient care. Patients vote him all round in customer satisfaction. He is known to spend time with his patients and care for the needs of his patients. Dr. David Tharakan has been in practice for more than twelve years, which makes him one of the most experienced physicians in Stone Oak. He is married to Reshmey Tharakan, the C.E.O. of Reshmey Medical Clinic, and has two boys. The Tharakans do a community outreach programs as well as donations to several charities. Dr. Tharakan is active in his church as well as his son's Boy Scouts when he is not working in the clinic.

WOW ! Dr Tharakan is the BEST !!! My husband and I have been patients of Dr Tharakan for Many Years now, and he has never dissapointed ! He's a FANTASTIC SUPER DOCTOR !! His Office Manager is SIMPLY THE BEST ! The Doctor and his office Manager ;O) go out of their way to make her and the Doctors Patients Feel Like Family ! They are TRUELY GREAT. I CANNOT RECOMMEND HIM MORE HIGHLY. He is a Marvelous Doctor, they are a Great Team !!!!

!! DR Tharakan is an EXCELLENT EXCELLENT DOCTOR ! Dr. Tharakan is THE BEST PCP anyone could ask for ! He's Very Intelligent , AND he's not stuck up at all, he's very down to earth and has excellent people skills ! We've been seeing him for lots of years already, and he ALWAYS GOES OUT OF HIS WAY FOR HIS PATIENTS ! His Office Administrator DESERVES LOTS OF PRAISE TOO ! She's THE BEST , she makes thier patients feel right at home, takes her time with them , comforts them, shes FANTASTIC just like Dr Tharakan ! I took my son to see Dr. Tharakan for a spine disorder that he has. The doc was great, very thorough and wait time was very short. Unfortunatly, his front desk was very unprofessional spouting out all of our insurance information including my husbands social in the waiting room. In addition to this, it has been 2 months and we are still waiting for the referral to another doctor. My son had bloodwork done and I have yet to hear back about the results. I have called numerous times to only get an answering machine and knowone will return my call. This is very frustrating as I have called so much and I work in the medical field myself and would NEVER allow my staff to treat my patients in this manner. Not to mention that they have been paid from our insurance company. It's very sad that the doctor was great but due to his staff I will never return nor will I refer anyone to this practice. My next step is to call my insurance company in hopes that maybe they can get them to call me back! Disgusted!!!

He and his office employees were wonderful. He accomodated my wheelchair bound boyfriend. We were 30 minutes late ON A SATURDAY and he still waited on us. He listened and was very compassionate. I am excited to have a doctor that we like so much! I love that he has office hours on Saturday.

I just want to mention that for a ladies annual visit - this was the most comfortable exam I've ever had. Which is not something you are likely to hear someone say. No discomfort at all.

My son had an appointment at 11:00am. I liked the fact that the doctor was open on Saturdays, is in the Stone Oak medical community, and that I could book the appointment online. Most importantly, i liked the fact that I could get My son's physical AND vaccinations completed today. On the 'Notes' section of the online form, I wrote that he needed his meningitis and tetanus boosters for school, which starts in a week.
So, we get there at 10:55am. Filled out a very thorough medical questionnaire, and was impressed with the breadth of questions asked. Gave my insurance card to the woman at the front desk. Over the course of the next 45 minutes, she kept calling me up to the desk. Who was the patient? Oh, My son Not me. Thank you very much. Who is A certain person on my insurance card. Oh, the policyholder. Thank you very much. Ten minutes later, Do I know his social security number? I had noted it in the appropriate space already. Oh yes, there it is. Thank you very much. And so on and so on. And we were next.
After waiting for 80 minutes, we were called back. No nurse, just the doctor. He was pleasant enough, but by then I was pretty ticked off. He asked, "And what brings you here today?" I said that My son needed his school vaccinations and a physical. He replied, "Oh, we don't do shots here, but I can refer you to another office for that." Oh my gosh. I couldn't believe it. The doctor did a thorough physical, referred us elsewhere, and seemed like a nice man. But what an incompetent office staff and scheduling system. There were no emergencies going on. It was just bad scheduling and lack of follow-through with reading the Notes area of the appointment form. I've worked in medical offices before. This one needs help.

Dr. Tharakan was so caring took the time to actually view my medical records that i took in for him to evalyate me. He said he would help me find the specialist such as a neurologist that takes medicaid to see me just as a follow up on my diasbility. i felt cared for i will recommend Dr. Tarakan to whom needs an understanding
and caring Doctor.
