Once I got in to see David the appointment went well. I was able to discuss a few medical concerns I had and he was able to respond to and start finding reasons for why all of them are happening. He gave me actionable ways to start improving some ailments I currently have.
That said, I was quite frustrated with the wait time. I got in around 2:45 and I didn't get into a room until around 3:20. This was with an appointment at 3 which was scheduled weeks in advance. After that it still took a while for David to get in to see me, though it sounded like he was having a busy day so it's not the end of the world.
Overall I plan on returning in 4 months to see if I've made progress with my high blood pressure or if we'll need to find a different solution. I'm looking forward to David being my PCP.

I chose Dr. Vermylen because I wanted to get an in-network doctor close to my office who had good reviews. While it was an opportunity to get my annual physical as a new patient, he also discussed a few other minor ailments. He was very friendly, professional, and thorough. I appreciated his ability to be clear about his assessments and his recommendations without making me in any way feel rushed or like just another patient. I felt completely at ease very quickly, and I was grateful that I felt I could be candid. We guys are notorious about not being direct with vulnerable or embarrassing conditions or questions, but by the end of my very short visit I can imagine myself putting anything on the table because I experienced his authentic care for his patients. Highly recommend!

My first visit with Dr. Vermylen was amazing. I arrived about 15 minutes early and was seen right away. I expected it to be a quick check up impersonal meeting but it turned out to be a welcome 45 minutes to almost an hour. He really took the time to get to know me, my medical past, asked a lot of in depth questions, discussed other options as far as treatments, recommended specialists, and made it a point to make a follow up appointment to see how things are going. I would definitely recommend him and will be making him my regular PC Physician.

I couldn't be more pleased with my visit. My appointment with Dr Vermylen to talk about some anxiety issues I was having. As (bad) luck would have it, I was having an episode when I met him. He was kind and understanding. He asked questions. He listened to my answers. After a few minutes, he was able to succinctly describe what he thought was going on and offer possible solutions to fix it.
I've never been more thoroughly impressed with a first doctor's visit.
Highly recommend.
