Dr. David F. Wilson is a fixture in the medical community in the Portland area, providing empathetic and effective care in disorders of hearing and balance.
One of the first to perform cochlear implant surgery in the state of Oregon, Dr. Wilson was also one of the first surgeons to perform surgery for acoustic neuromas, a tumor based on the balance nerve, in the Pacific Northwest.
Dr. Wilson’s pioneering ways and leadership have extended beyond the regional to the national level. He holds leadership positions in several national organizations for otolaryngologists.
Dr. Wilson attended medical school at the University of Iowa. Subsequently, he completed his residency training in otololaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat) at the Mayo Clinic before completing his subspecialty training in otology/neurotology and skull base surgery at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles, California.
His research activities have been broad-based within otology/neurotology, and he has presented his work at numerous regional and national meetings. He has also published in several peer-reviewed journals.
He is a fellow of the Triological Society, the American Neurotology Society, the American Otological Society, the Oregon Academy of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery.
